Yes, it's a no brainer, since it would only sacrifice Morata for him, and top quality AM is needed more then Morata who is fine but 3rd choice.

We wouldn't sacrifice Cuadrado and Berardi since we don't even own them and them put together would prolly not give the impact of James.
In this hypothetical scenario for me would if we spent 70m in James or Morata(25)+Berardi(25)+Cuadrado(20). I chose the second.

If Morata stay, he would be our starter striker with Dybala in the years to come. I rate high Berardi and Cuadrado is a game changer by his own.

Don't forget his wages. He would be too expensive to flop, and if he does we make huge loses. We can afford someone like Berardi flopping but not a 60M+ player.

Morata would be 50 or 55 mio by him self though. So in that regards is not a fair comparison.

Agree with this.

As much as we like James...we would be sacrificing 3 important slots to suit him. And if he, or the plan, flops, the consequences would be devastating.

We cant put all our eggs in one basket.

You are discussing if getting Isco would be better than Morata + Cuadrado + Berardi? And somebody said that getting just Isco would be better? :shifty:

Exactly. James could get better with us and he would cost 80-90, but he could also get a little of this falcao's disease and flop hard.

If Berardi, Morata or Cuadrado improves, those guys would cost more than 100m for sure and if they flop hard, we still should be able to get our 70M back

But the question was if we let go Morata, Cuadrado and Berardi in order to get James. My answer is NO

I would not trade Morata, Cuad and Berardi for James either. My point was that it is not really a fair comparison as they are not the same price.

Scenario 1. We keep Morata by paying Real an Extra 25 mio. Then we buy Cuad (20 mio) and Berardi (25 mio). Net spend 70 mio.

Scenario 2. We sell Morata to Real for 30 mio and bye James for 70 mio. Net spend 40 mio.

So it is basically a question if you would rather have Morata, Cuad and Beradi or James and 30 mio. To invest in someone else

Morata is worth paying 20M to keep him though. Hes worth more than 30M which we would lose him for. Therefore we should do everything to keep him
Agreed, but between keeping or losing him is still a 50m euro difference. Could we get someone better for 50m? Not impossible.

Plus it would immediately pay for Berardi & Cuadrado (apart from the wages of course).

BTW we already had interest in Mustafi when he was at Samp. The thinking then was that we didn't really need another DC, and it's debatable whether we need a potentially starting quality one now.

I don't really know how good he is but at 24 that's the kind of age you pick up central defenders to develop them and get their best years.

If we know we can keep Morata by paying 20M to Real we should do it regardless of if we can find someone better for 50M. Who could we get anyway, Cavani? I wouldn't give up Morata for him

Neither do I. Cavani would cost a lot, his wage is high and he would cost less than 30 in 3 years. Morata should cost at least same 50m by the same time
