The two Manchester clubs are expected to spend around £300m min. between them in the next 10/12 weeks.

To them €40m is the going rate for an international class player - as opposed to a world class player.

Would you let Morata, Cuadrado and berardi go if it meant getting James? Personally I'd rather have James than these 3. He can even have their salaries.

A summer of James, Gomes and a RB sub?
I wouldn't. James would cost us too much (60-70M in fee minimum, and that only if we face no competition, and not less than 6-7M salary) and if he doesent perform at his very best constantly hes not worth it for us. Ofcourse he could revive his career here and perform at a WC level weekly but at such price the risk is too high. Such a transfer also doesent fit into our transfer strategy of finding young players and introducing them to the starting XI slowly and waiting for opportunity signings. Berardi fits, so does Gomes, James at 30-40M and 4-5M wages also would but he would never be available for that.
