What a garbage news. Luckily it has nothing to do with reality so we can sleep well :D

We give Pogba a payrise and he's the star here. As long as he's happy to continue here we should keep him, no point in making sideways moves. Rebuilding core of squad every year is definitely not what big clubs do.

We retain our starts and what happens then is not a big issue for me. Unfortunately Morata and Cuadrado are as good as gone so we'll have to spend some cash this summer to make up for the loss but overall we're pretty good as things stand.

Depth signings will fuck up our mercato even this year.

There are signings we simply have to make to keep the players we have and to strengthen some positions.

GK - ?
CB - 10 million or more
RB - 10 million or more
Lemina - 10 million
Berardi - 10 million
Morata - 20 million

That's 60 million without even bringing a top player to reinforce the first 11.

You think Berardi would be considered a depth signing?

Plus You can't really say that this 20 for Morata is bad. We just payed less in front.

Yes to Ivanovic. Imo he would do even better in Serie A.
Of course he would be. His side men this year were really bad, even when he played as CB he did a better job than playmates

No thanks we need more dynamic fullback who is younger.
Completely right but if we didn't success in that request, Ivanovic could play in a three mano defense.... Nevermind, all this is pointless, he signed an extention with chelsea

Well, your mistake is that you consider those as depth. Names like Lemina, Berardi, Morata and Gomes (we're seriously interested it seems so let's throw him in too) are all potential starters. Even if they sit on the bench that doesn't mean they're bad so they only make up for depth. It's the opposite IMO, they don't start but any of those can become a starter rather quickly (injuries, suspension, poor form of rival on the same position).

We don't operate like Barca/RM/Bayern/EPL clubs but it doesn't mean we're not getting stronger. Sure it's more like taking a few steps forward while people expect a jump in quality but with every year passing it takes more effort to retain your best players and that's just something you have to live with.

Yes for Berardi. IMO he will warm up the bench most of the time just like Zaza.

As for Morata, it would be great to keep him, he's worth that money. All I'm saying is that these payments will fuck up our plans to bring in a top player for CL push.

Nah, Berardi will become like Dybala this year imo. Don't know about the impact but will gradually be inserted into starting 11.

They are all good players, but except Morata none of them can be a starter here next season, not even Gomes. Once Marchisio comes back, Gomes would hit the bench.

We need to reinforce the first 11 now, if we want that CL trophy. Top AM signing would be amazing and we should focus on that IMO.

True, but we could use younger CB too. He is Lichsteiner and Chiellini age, he is 32.
hm, i thought hes around 35 for some reason...

he signed an extension already which means hes most likely staying there, but on a free could have been an excellent depth CB/RB, an Evra like stop gap solution on a free in a mercato where we theoretically would have to spend ~50M to keep 3 players in the squad, another 25M for Berardi and are aiming at another 30M+ signing in Gomes.

Gomes will be a starter if he comes here or at worst will play an important role like Sandro this yr.

I cant think of many AM's within reach that will improve our side significantly.

Yeah but there's talk like that every Summer. The problem is it's not that easy. If it was I'm sure our management would just do that.

Depth is important because we play a lot of games. Injuries, suspensions and drops of form happen and we saw that perfectly this season. There's a saying "your team is as good as your bench" for a reason and we experienced it this year too, even in CL where we were thrown out just by Bayern's depth (Coman and Thiago). When the tie is so close it's down to details and bench is one of those important details.

I think you underrate the players mentioned above a lot but I guess it comes out of you just because of impatience. It's not enough to just spend big to win CL. You have to be the best team on organizational level to win it. Your team has to function perfectly, otherwise no money will win it for you. The biggest part of the job is there to be done by Allegri, not Marotta IMO. Allegri has to find the perfect balance between attack and defence, plus make the team confident when we play in Europe. Atletico aren't big spenders nor they have that many big names but they managed to do it again. Fecking Torres plays in attack for them and they are one step from winning it (which they will IMO, but we'll see).

Give me a WC AM that's affordable and gives us guarantees. Tbh I see no name on the market that fits the criteria.

Something I like about Barzagli is that while he is slowing down now, he was still pretty fucking quick for a centre back and it has helped him keep a high level even now he's turning 35. Evra lost quite a bit of his speed but can still get around. Ivanovic moves around like a tortoise. Pass.
