I'm not sure but my guess is part of the reason is taking so long is because we want to find midfielders to get before we announce it too. But market seems slow.

I would be fine with getting some DM and Kovacic for extra inventive ability from the bench.

Also another reason is space in the squad, we need to sell our dead weights before we consider making more purchases.

It's the second summer in a row, we go full throttle in the beginning and seem to miss out on something then we start cycling in a puddle of mud by the end.

Nah this summer has been great fullstop. Last one was a joke in how he scrambled for a month for AM and then shit the bed around deadline.

I'm pretty sure this time the problem is mainly the injuries in midfield, trying to find cover for absences is not the same as focusing on getting an AM and failing for most of last summer.

I did not imply it wasn't great in my description, I also think last summer was pretty amazing in what we got and somehow disastrous in how we sold.

So,

Pereyra wants to stay,Zaza doesn't want to go to Germany and Hernanes also making it hard to leave.

we NEED to sell atleast 3 players to cut the roster size to 25,wonder what we'll do.
sell Lemina?fuck i hope no.
who else?
Asa has no offers.
Sturaro don't think wants to leave as well.

If you compare to Pogba and Vidal at their best then you are going to be disappointed, there is no one on the market.

Pjanic replaces Pogba...... Matuidi replaces Vidal.
And this is how you dismantle an awesome midfield in just 2 seasons ladies and gentlemen. Incredibly underwhelming.

Pjanic is a wonderful player, but a downgrade on Pogba, and let's not even start on Matuidi replacing Vidal :howler: It's like trading in your SLR for a Fiat Punto.

That is why you keep your best players. I am all for selling Pogba eventually (if he wants to leave), but now is the worst possible time. Mind you, I wasn't too pleased about the Vidal sale either.

And if they want to leave? I have a feeling this discussion has been had a million times before...

We are always assuming that said player wants to leave. Is it possible that management saw the money and encouraged the move?! :boh:
Vidal clearly wanted to leave, just read his recent comments, or any since he left.

    Coman wanted to leave.

Pogba we'll see. I think it's a mixture of his non-committal, agent and the big money/draw. With him it's a different issue. We'll get a world record fee and have already bought absolute quality this mercato. You can't have it all ways, only if you are Real Madrid.

Or Barcelona or Bayern. We aspire to be like these clubs, and to get there, we have to hold onto our star performers, and hope that wasteland of a league aka Serie A somehow witnesses a revival.

The league holds us back, but if players think they can continually challenge for the CL at any club they will move and stay there, unless tempted by money. Unfortunately that's all in England right now, even Real Madrid and Barcelona can't compete with this bid for Pogba.

I think we want to sell him if he doesn't extend his contract. Letting it go down to 2 years is risky because clubs will try to leverage us especially with Real Madrid transfer banned next summer. If we sell him now we have much more leverage.
