Offensively James can be insanely good obviously better than Kroos as CAM.

However, Kroos can defend better (Allegri likes that) and can play CM (Marchisio's role) and is still great as CAM. With Kroos you buy a world class CM and a world class CAM. 3-5-2 or 4-3-1-2 we would be set in both cases.

For the same price I'd take a player that can be world class in two roles both of which I need reinforcing then take a player that is World Class in just one role even if in that role he is better than his counterpart. That is unless the gulf in quality as CAM is huge which I dont think it is.
Kroos is a very good player but I`m not sure I`d label him as WC
As for James vs Kroos debate its funny they are being compared as James is twice the player Kroos is attacking wise!
So unless you are looking for a CM you should go for James and if you look for CM you should consider other players who are just as good as Kroos and are more of a fit to our club!
Comparing James to Kroos at CAM is like comparing Dybala to Messi - Dybala is great not wc yet.. while Messi is the best player in the world and maybe even of all times

Ideally I'd take Kroos over Isco and James. Kroos can be world class as a creative CM and as a CAM (like he did with Bayern's treble team). 2 birds one stone. Zidane seems to love him though.
Bayern became an unstoppable machine once Kroos got injured in the game vs us.

I counter with Schweinsteiger and Kroos..soon to be reunited EC2016 :andyandbarcelona:
Gomez at CF, Ozil and Podolski on the wings, Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Kroos in midfield, Arne Friedrich, Boateng as fullbacks, Mertesacker and Badstuber as CBs

...but not because kroos was dog$#@!, but because the width and pace that came on with robben, basically ruining the 352.
yes, i agree. Kroos still was a great player for them and was important member of the team, but Robben gave them that extra push that made them such a force. same against Barcelona. with Kroos they would have still won i think but not demolish them the way they did with Robben. i still dont understand why Robben was benched so much up until then anyway. yes he had injury problems but not that much to miss half the games that season

We have two players from whom all creativity steems from: Dybala and Pogba.

Creative players are hard to find these days, but we definitely need another one. Should be our top priority for next season.

Along with a RB and a backup CB.

I say screw James, Isco or Ozil, they are out of our reach in any case and get Bologna's Donsah and Diawara. These two will become world class players soon.

You say dont get the kind of top player we exactly need in AM and get two young DMs who would be backup and should have no bearing on previous mentionned targets?

Khedira is way to injury prone, Marchisio is 30 yo and needs reliable backup and will have to be replaced in a few years. But by then Donsah and Diawara will be plying their trade elsewhere. This summer we'll have the opportunity to get them for reasonable fee and I'd be down for that even at the expense of attacking mid. Besides Allegri's preferred set of skills are different from what is commonly seen necessary for this role and I'm sure he'll find a way to find a starting spot for at least one of them. Diawara in particular looks rather mature and ready for the next step.

:D

I'm serious, huge salary/fee to go there, but seriously someone of this level and age cant be staying there for long.
money whore with zero ambition. couldn't he just have joined a MLS club like Gio? they pay good too and he wouldn't have to play in front of 3 people, in the middle of nowhere.
