What really excites me is the possibilities guys like Cuadrado and Pjaca bring to our set up. I would love to see us play a 4231 at some point, even though there is an element of compromise with the way we like to set up the defense.
I am a huge fan of the 4-2-3-1.
Problem is that this sacrifices Pogba for the moment. Pogba can only play a holding role there, as he would be MUCH less impactfull on the TQ spot. And in a 4-2-3-1 the holding mids need to balance out the team
That 4-5-1 we played changed things. It takes midfielders that play much lower, doesnt use a TQ but has 2 offensive cm's and a holding one instead. Thats perfect. We would be able to play offensive wingbacks on the wing, and more defensive wing/fullbacks on the fullback. Marchisio can focus on support and the two offensive cm's, Pjanic and Pogba can mostly focus on offensive runs because the wide midfielders wont require too much defensive cover
A 4-5-1 would be brutal cause Pogba has all the freedom he wants. It does just use 1 striker, so it was ideal with Morata or Mandzukic on roids. With Dybala its different. SO i consider it a secondary formation.
As it stands, juventus has insane talent with Pogba and Dybala, also really also Pjanic. We need to absolutely get most out of that .
As it stands, thats 3-5-2.
