Emerson Saga Finally Comes To An End
24/7/2004 from www.asianfootball.com

After weeks of twisting and tiring episodes, Brazilian ace, Emerson

finally ends the speculation regarding his future by signing a 4-year

contract with Real Madrid. This is a shocking news since Emerson had

promised himself to the Italian giant, Juventus weeks ago.

"If we can't get Vieira, then Emerson will do" said newly-elected Real

president, Florentino Perez. The Spanish club is reported to have paid

£13 million for the Roma's star.

In a seperate interview, Juventus General Manager, Luciano Moggi

stated that Emerson wasn't a part of the "big picture" of the club.

His statement had led to an unprecedented conflict with Juventus

manager Fabio Capello, who is a big fan of his former player. "I

understand about the club's transfer policy, yet, the decision to let

Emerson go to Madrid simply unacceptable."

Emerson himself admitted that he is relieved to have finally settled

his future. "I know I promised myself to Juventus, but I don't think

they're trying hard enough to get me, I feel like I'm used." He also

stated that the presence of fellow Brazillians, Ronaldo and Roberto

Carlos had helped him to make the decision to go to Real.
