Now that Allegri apparently has a say on which players we should go after, maybe we will see this 11 for next season:

Perin
De Sciglio - Bonucci - De Ligt - Emerson
Cuadrado / Chiesa - Locatelli - Danilo - Rabiot
Vlahovic - Bellotti

It has the right defensive balance, tactical flexibility and italian blood that our coach enjoys.
lmao this would drive @Bianconeri81 crazy

Which is fine if we didn't already have that. We need a starter. Either a proven one or someone like Udogie to grow him into a years long starter. Our problem this year was Alex Sandro, not De Sciglio or Pellegrini
We need at least 5 starting calibre players at least and that ain't happening. So it's a matter of giving in on one position or another.

I'd understand not buying anyone too but Cuads and Danilo are often used in other positions while Pellegrini and Desci are injury prone.

Maybe it's not happening but Emerson isn't the direction we should go. He would have been fine in 2020 when we had AS alone (well, Frabotta too, but he's terrible), or even last summer when he was a freebie I think, for depth. But we have AS/Pelle/MDS and Cuads/Danilo/MDS, and if you don't either improve on that by adding a starter or invest for the future with a youngster, then there is no reason to touch it. We have one winger only who will miss half the season. Then our starter CB will probably retire. And we should still try to improve the midfield after that. LB and GK after those. Emerson is a sideways move and we don't have the time and resources to waste I think

AS is going out the door. Cuads is probably going to play winger a lot. That leaves only 3 fullbacks and 2 of them very injury prone.

The thing with Palmieri is, we can possibly get him on loan to bridge the gab. On a long term contract? I certainly wouldn't...

AS should leave, yes. But replace him with a starting caliber player or with someone who can grow into that (Udogie). Cuads shouldn't play winger a lot, we should add winger depth. The guy will get a season ending injury any time soon with how much we ride him. I'd rely on him as a starting RB but not full time, and occasional RM/RW. We have Danilo who can play both sides and De Sciglio too (if he stays, if not maybe I'd consider Emerson). Depth is the last thing we need, focus on the starters

Indeed...

Yes, we need a starter. We also need a CB, 2 CMs, 2/3 wingers and a backup striker. We do not have the money for it. Simple as that. If we buy Udogie/Lodi/..., it's basically opting to not splash in midfield again. And that shouldn't be an option.

I don’t think that Udogie will be very expensive. Lodi is another story, but in total costs Udogie might be a lot closer to Palmieri, perhaps even cheaper depending on the salary of course. Or is Palmieri’s contract expiring?

Not the end of the world if we sign him, but no upgrade on Sandro either. I rather see us signing Cambiaso or Udogie, perhaps even try for Spina even tho he’s always injured. At least a player who’s able to make the difference if needed.

Well, those are speculations ofc but I saw a rumoured price of 30m for Udogie and I don't think Chelsea can get that much for Palmieri.
They basically want him gone like we wanted Desci out last season...

I'd prefer Udogie as well. So maybe if we can postpone the payment...

Cambiaso ruptured his ACL, no? So I wouldn't bet on him for next season. And Spina's always injured, no thanks.
