Emanuele Giaccherini has no regrets about leaving Italian champions Juventus for Sunderland during the summer.

The 28-year-old moved to the Premier League in July after a transfer fee of €7.5m was agreed between the two clubs.

“It was hard to leave Juventus, but it was to the economical benefit of everyone – myself and the club,” he told Radio Mana Sport.

“I left a great team behind, but I’m happy with the moment I am living through. It’s a beautiful experience which I wanted.

“The English game remains physical and less tactical, but there is a lot less pressure around it.”

Giaccherini, though, has been linked with a possible return to the peninsula given his club’s struggles in the Premiership.

The outfit, who sacked boss Paolo Di Canio earlier this season, are in the relegation zone after picking up just seven points from 11 games.

“At this moment in time all I am thinking of is to do well with my English club,” he added. “Then we will see what happens.”
