Nedved made a quote in respect to winning the ballon d'or that he wasn't the most skilled footballer, but that he reached the top through a strong work ethic and commitment. If Giak's rise from the lowly ranks of C2 to Serie A and the Nazionale isn't a fantastic tale of rising to (near enough) the top, overcoming bad luck and a selection of torrid injuries, on the back of perseverance, hard work and commitment and shouldn't be admired; then sheesh, shoot me down. Of course Giak isn't comparable to bloody Nedved! Just that once upon a time Nedved embodied the toiling and hard working footballer and we loved him for it, so does Giak, that is where the comparison more or less ends.
