I really hope not, would be a pretty pathetic acquisition for a place in this team which has been severely lacking in quality recently.

I only saw him 6-7 times last season but I remember the Milan match early in the season where he was fantastic. But he's not really the sort of player you spend a lot of money on, he's not great and his goals/assists numbers last season were pretty much par for such an important player in an albeit mediocre team. I know the reasons why Giovinco is not here but to have him play elsewhere and then pay anything more than €8m for Giaccherini would be pretty sad.

Gianccherini rose to Internet stardom following a match on the 12th of March 2011 against Juventus in which he failed to score twice in front of an empty goal.
