but hey when Davids came he was rotting on milans bench doin nothing..then he came here and we all know how that went
Yeah, but Davids was already a starter in the 1995 and 1996 CL finals for Ajax when he joined us in 1997 after the bad period in Milan. What I'm saying is that Davids was already a proven player (despite being very young) at the highest level. If Elia was an important player and a starter for Barca or United in 2 CL finals before flopping in another team in the following season and a half, then we could compare him to Davids. The way things stand, the comparison seems way too silly on so many levels.

Plus Elia flops in HSV and not Milan.

Well, you still sound like a little bitch ;)

So tell me, what do you expect from a club that are not playing in any of the european competitions? Do you expect us to sign Messi, Ronaldo etc? Elia is better than what we have - and if we cannot get Afellay, then I cannot see why Elia is not a good signing? Hopefully we can get a better LW next season - and Elia (if he fails) can still be used as a sub for LW and RW.... Elia is not my first choice - but that does not make him bad player.

So you call me a rude troll? I think I have supported the club much longer than you have.... And rude? Almost every time I see a post from you, you tend to talk shit to everyone else....Sad!
I don't talk shit to anyone. I just vent because I am frustrated and disappointed. I only retaliate when I am attacked for no apparent reason! Marotta sucks, Agnelli doesn't really seem to care, and we are just adding players without a clear strategy. I have been following Juve since 94, but I actually began supporting them back in 89 when my Italian friend Mauro gave me a Juventus poster.

I was hoping for a Vargas, Bastos type player. Afellay doesn't seem impossible either, if only Marotta tries hard enough. I mean, we started off the market with names like Sanchez and Aguero, and look at where we are now!

This mercato was going really nice. All Marotta had to do in August was to secure us a good CB and a LW who is at least on the same level as his previous transfers this summer (Licht, Vidal, Vucinic, older Pirlo). Looks like he won't do that :(
That is so true, I got totally disgusted in August. Right after signing Vucinic, Agnelli said that things will happen in August and I really thought that we will sign only two quality players, on a CB and one a LW.

Davids was world class, Elia is not. But paths of their careers may be similar. Noone is saying Elia will reach Davids lvl, just pointing out that after failing in his first foreign club, he may reach his potential in another. Of course Elias potential is nowhere near Davids'.

Believe me - if we could get players like Bastos, Vargas or Afellay I would be more than happy. We just need to realistic. Aguero and Sanchez were way to good to be true - tough I keep dreaming of this happening. I guess my problem with you is that you seem negative all the time....lighten up mate ;)

I started supporting Juve back in 88, and even tough I live in Denmark I have already seen them play a lot of times.

This is also true, we were promised many things that seemingly, won't be happening.
Maybe Agnelli thought the name Juventus would be good enough to convince some "big names" but reality is something else, or maybe he just said it so the fans would buy more subscriptions, I don't know but indeed, what has been promised, definatly didn't arrive (yet, although I don't think it will be coming either).

Still, Elia would be an upgrade for the LW

That is because I have problems with how you are, you can't see anything positive, every fucking thing we do, every fucking player we are linked with, every fucking rumour that comes out, you go into the negative, it is annoying as hell.

But don't worry, this will be the last you get from me, for the first time in my long lasting virtual carrer, someone managed to get himself on my ignore list.
Chester, don't you get it mate? Him and Cron are doing this shit for the solely reason that they receive some attention! If you ignore them, they will disappear the same way they disappear after good games..

i can´t believe i´m writing this but i have to say that bianconero81 got a point here. of course he is always very negative about everything but he has every right to be frustrated about this transfer imo.
i really can´t see why some people are so exited about elia just because they saw some of his better games at the world cup. he was pretty aweful ever since and proved to be quite childish and bitchy.

nevertheless: in conte i trust. get his lazy ass going again...

Believe me, I'm not a negative nancy in person, far from it. However, Juventus has been disappointing on so many levels for 2 seasons now, and after becoming accustomed to success and the euphoria surrounding the team pre-calciopoli, and even the hope after decent performances in the 2 subsequent seasons post-calcipoli, I can't help but feel dismayed by events over the course of the past 2 seasons! I don't think that in my entire history of following/watching Juventus we have finished 7'th in two consecutive seasons. It's an all time low!

Yea but that's the point isn't it? Pinturicchio! We're in this faggot's comfort zone! Which means more players for the money spent. The quality doesn't matter as long as they 're young. This is how midtable small teams behave. We haven't signed one player we've been linked to. The only constant there has been this whole time, is this guy. We keep sitting here and saying we've dodged one bullet after another. What's the point of dodging bullets when you've got the mother fucking atom bomb sitting in the headquarters.

@baggio
True. I am frustrated as well. Every year we are promised quality players - and we end up with average players. And believe me if I could bring back Moggi and co I would do it in a heartbeat. That being said I think that we have bought some great (not world class) players like Pirlo, Vidal, Licht and Vucinic. Elia would be another great signing (if he drops the attitude) and shows his potential. It's a bit of a risk - but it's worth taking. Hopefully we can attract better players next season - if Marotta (and Agnelli) get their shit together ;)

I don't think it has anything to do with attracting, it has to do with how to close deals. At least that's how I see it.

As for Elia being an upgrade it actually means nothing because when we need to do an upgrade on Elia himself we will be stuck with him and his salary.

I don't know about closing the deals, seems to me that Italian teams in general aren't able to close deals with teams outside Italy at the moment, not one big name has been added to the league this season.
I think with Vidal, we signed the most promising player from outside SerieA so far this summer from all Italian teams, says a lot doesn't it?
I am 100% certain that, if we can get the Elia back from the WC and his time at Twente, everyone here will be convinced we won't be needing an upgrade for the LW the next few years.
Like Pinturicchio said, he is a risk, but one I am willing to take.
