wow... i was so so happy about the mercato until now :(
i mean it would still be a very good one if alex arrives but elia would be very disappointing. let´s pray conte will get into his head...

well i´m from germany and i guess i´ve seen him play quite a bit. he basically had one good half season since he arrived in hamburg. i admit that it´s kinda hard to judge his last season because the whole HSV team was just horrible, partly playing against the coach etc... a single player can´t do much about this... i agree.
but what scares me the most: he is definately looking like a guy who loses interest in the game when things aren´t going his way. he might do well when it comes down to slaughtering small teams after scoring two early goals or something but i´m really scared to see him play against better teams. if he loses the first 2-3 one on ones he is more than likely to just fade out of the game.

his signing looks like a big risk to me but obviously i have faith in conte... if he gets his head right + elia somehow manages to adjust to italian football + the whole team is doing fine he will do well

To be honest, if Conte wants him then I'm sure he's watched him more than most of us to judge him.
:agree:

Enough being negative about every player that juve wants. Conte know what he is doing, and Elia have the potential to be very good. The only thing im woried about this transfer is his attitude.

Thanks for the insight mate. I watched him abit at Twente and watched him live when they played City in the Europa a few years back and he looked very good.

However I've not followed him in Germany so I can't say. However he may just need to go to a top club and play with better players to achieve his potential.

well i´m not one of those "vucenic sucks, i want aguero", "vidal sucks, i want diarra" guys. far from that... i love what marotta has done this mercato and was facepalming many hours in front of my pc while reading in this forum. people bashing every single move... pazienza joins for free (important player for a side that became third last season) and sissoko (injured all the time, earns twice as much as pazienza and his sell gave us 7mio) gets sold -> marotta is an idiot ^^. i don´t get it :D
but the elia move scares me a bit. as you said: shitty attitude and he really hasn´t played very well in the last 1.5 years + 10mio sounds like a lot to me.
furthermore there is always the high risk we are taking. i was already talking about that in the ramirez thread. we just CAN´T afford failure (missing cl) again this season so i would have preferend a proven, in form player (bastos or even better vargas) over a gamble (and i will stick to that) like elia.

but we will see. if he is motivated he´s fast as hell and it can´t be that hard to run after pirlos brilliant passes :)
