I'm with buying "potential" if we have a LW starter already. But right now we can't afford to give an important spot for a "may or may not be good" player. Linebreak your heart is in the right place, but we shouldn't buy him now.

It didn't dawn upon them to give him a wage raise + new release clause two seasons ago?
It takes two to tango.

Even if they wanted to renegotiate Sahin's contract, maybe he wanted to wait and see what offers he would get this summer before committing to anything.

Sorry didn't see that.

That's got to be the transfer of the season.
Meh.

And don't mind his dribbles, what's the point if you can't cross properly half the time.

they knew the player for a very long time (since he was 16 or something) and so they surely did not think "hey, one day nuri will wake up and play like zidane"... they probably were surprised by nuris performances themselves (or at least surprised how the performances influenced others to believe nuri was world class) and just did the most smart thing they could in selling him to real madrid for the most they could get (given the clause).

dortmund now have reinforced their midfield and people say its even more creative and unpredictable after sahin is gone. so no marks of "oh god, a world class player left us". its more like they made him look good and now they got money out of it without actually missing him much.

just like certain teams make certain players in them look good while they would completely fail at other clubs.

if nuri actually was worldclass than you would have seen that way before, because he played professional games with a pretty young age and was visible to anyone with a tv, but guess what no one said "hey that young guy that plays for feyenord has glimpes of world class, lets sign him" similar to that nuri even played games for the second squad of dortmund in the 4th german league ... even there no other club of an higher league said "look how he plays... he is totally above the other players of this league, lets snap him up".

just because you get bought by real madrid does not make you world class

Sahin is not a player I think an awful lot of. He's good, but far from great.

BVB, to me, are much more about the style of play than the talent of any individual.

They have good players, and a couple with the potential to be great, but their success comes more from the quality of their movement, rather fantastic technical ability.

That dependence on team movement makes their players prime candidates to be guys who look great in their current set-up, but could look distinctly average elsewhere.

Giovinco is miles better than Elia. If we can't get Gio back, then let's go for Marin or just say 'to hell with it' and splash the cash on someone worth it.

Let me get this straight. We are planning to get the black Pepe, while we offloaded Giovinco, who also happened to be young and promising, for half the price we are willing to offer Hamburg for this clown. Moreoever, we are only offering 7 Million Euros for someone who we expect to solve our LW
problems, which is 3 and 5 million less than we offered for the useless duo of Pepe and Martinez respectively! :shifty: :sergio:

He is shit. What is there to like? What has he proven?

We can't be taking gambles; we already have too many of those on ur team, and coupled with the likes of Pepe, Martinez, and Motta, we don't need another "potentially promising" player who is likely to fail.

What's to like? Pacy, good dribbler, above average technique.

So he hasn't had a great time in Germany, who cares.

I thought we wanted to see young technically gifted players at Juve, especially those that plug a glaring hole in the team.

Yes, another qucik fix is indeed what we need. Pepe is pacy, and works hard, but he is absolute shit. Elia might be good dribbler, but his dribbling is ineffective, it gets him nowhere. He can't cross, and he is rather lightweight and easy to knock off the ball.

I don't think he is technically gifted though. He just pulls off his tricks once in a while but that's nothing worth writing home about.

 :sergio: people settling for mediocrity and accepting less. We are Juventus ffs. We are going to be playing in a fucking new stadium this coming season. The fans demand a signing that they can get excited about!

How is Elia quality? Someone please enlighten me. He is a bench warmer for his club, and hardly figures for his country. Perhaps his unhappiness stems from the fact that he is a lazy git that doesn't want to do what is required of him to feature more prominently.

A few days ago I didn't have much faith in this guy but after watching some of his games (yes, full games) I think he can add a lot to this team. I hope we sign him.

Ya'all will trip and fall on your words when Elia proves you wrong!

Honestly, there isn't even any realistic and good wingers out there for us to sign. Its like they all vanished. Even if we wanted to make a flashy signing, who the hell is there to sign? Hazard and Mata are out of the picture which basically leaves guys like Elia, Bastos and Vargas.

Tell me, when he comes on off the bench, is everyone in anticipation of what he can do?

I really want Marotta to try for Mata or Hazard.
