Yep.Just read a report saying PSG asking 60m for him. We're not going to spend that kind of money even with winning CL.
And rightfully so. Cavani is fantastic but CF in not our highest priority by any means. We're in need of a fullback/CM/AM much more right now.

We just decided to spend big on Dybala and I'm very happy with him coming here. We're lucky Tevez is a machine so we barely needed to replace him this season.

Hi guys, psg fan here, it's possible that Cavani wants to leave psg this summer but i think that Nasser thinks otherwise. It's quite difficult to deal with him (see TS and Marquinhos when Barcelona wanted them).
In addition, Cavani's wages are 10M per year. Can't see Juve grant him 6 or 7M when the highest salary today is 4,5 right?

€7.5m including bonuses is the rumor running around atm but why do you feel its unlikely ?
Because of the salary of our other players most likely. And even if Cavani is a very good forward, he is by no means the kind of guy who will get you 40 goals on his own. I doubt that a salary of €7.5m would sit well with our other players.

Thats one explanation.

But forwards are usually the highest paid players at any club.

Seems way outside of our salary policy, even if it is for a big name.
It seems completely outside our existing salary policy.

It would not sit well at all, not just for pay structure harmony, but the precedent it makes for future signings.

I would imagine that the upper ceiling would be €5.5m - tops. And that in itself would require knock on adjustments being made as and when contract renewals are being negotiated to keep the salary levels fair and reasonable.

Not saying we will get Cavani or pay him shitloads but it seems to me that we are witnessing a change in our salary policy. I don't think Buffon or Tevez will be our ceiling soon. We are getting more revenue, we are succesful in Europe which means that we surely are more marketable. I think our salary cap will go up this or next year.

Well yes, eventually we will start increasing it to match our turnover and desire to remain competitive, but Cavani's kind of salary seems a few years down the line yet. Tevez and possibly Llorente (€4.5m + €3.5m) may be off the wage bill by 2016, so we have that in mind, but agents are the ones who push these things. Raiola will use it against us for Pogba, even though he has just renewed, and then we have Vidal on €4m.

This is one reason why we develop our own players, they come in relatively young on a couple of million or so and then there is room to grow with their status, when you go all in for established stars like Cavani you know what it costs and have to pay it, but then players and agents start measuring what that player does against their own. None could complain about Tevez being given such a contract, he is vital and changed our team, so Cavani would have to do the same and more. We're not like United where we can just pay whatever and align all our top players, their wage bill is currently the equivalent to €300m.

We have a vice Tevez now in Dybala at half the salary. See out Tevez's contract another year and getting he & Llorente off the books will certainly give us ammunition for a top guy in his prime. Getting a player like Cavani, say on 7m, would pay for itself over the course of the year with CL progress I would think. We are taking advantage of this wave we are on this season to set ourselves up for a repeat next year. We have some players we can sell/not renew to help as well.

As he said, we are now more marketable and appealing. Cavani would fit this team like a friggin' glove.

This,i even think he might prefer to come here than go for Atletico for example.
But still there is a long way,and i'm sure if Real/MU will make a move on him he'll go there.

This thread is so pointless :sergio:
We just got Dybala for almost 40m and if you think we can get this guy without selling Pogba
Fuck this horse face if it means Pogba gone,I'm totally cool with our strikers I would rather see Pogba here .

He certainly would fit the fit this team like a friggin' glove but this purchase has to be financed from the sale of Pogba. That would necessitate the need to pick up a suitably talented AMF at a fee that would command at least €40m

We can do that without selling Pogba yes.
Will PSG sell him?not sure.If Zlatan stays,probably.If not,probably not.
And even if so,will there be higher bids from Real/MU clubs?probably.
Will he receive better wages at those clubs?yes.

SO all in all it looks like a tough one to execute.

And ofcourse no to Cavani if it means losing Pogba.
