I still think Cavani is a bad idea. He's a physical player, and physical players decline early. He's already 28. He's got, what? 2 seasons at peak form, which he hasn't reached since Napoli? Paying 40-50m for a physical 28 year old who has less creativity in his body than Lichtsteiner.

And he doesn't always play in the wing. He plays down the middle often, and he's just as terrible. Napoli's Cavani is long gone but his price is still the same. He also benefited from the acres of space on the counter at Napoli. At Juve/PSG he does not have that space.

He's scored 24 goals this year already, 25 goals last year. Those are very big numbers, especially considering he isn't first choice in the middle for PSG. He has 10 CL goals for them over the two years. He hasn't been Napoli-good for them, but he certainly hasn't been as bad as some make him out to have been. Not even close.

Aside from this, he's not really the "physical-type" striker that declines early. He's more the physical-type in the sense that he's in incredible shape like a C. Ronaldo. A player that rarely gets injured, works incredibly hard at keeping himself in fantastic shape, and staying at the top of the game. I'd bet he has another 4-5 years of top level football left to him.

I'm disappointed you haven't changed your mind from 10 hours ago
Calling him less creative than Lichtsteiner...

By that logic, why go for Dybala if he couldn't even beat us?

I just.....why?
Nothing to do with that, it's about performing when the pressure is on and not relying on the rest of the team to play well to be able to perform. Tevez is an example of this as he can produce without relying on the rest of the team and Dybala is capable of also doing that.

I've yet to see Cavani perform for PSG when things are going against them, they're under pressure and they need a moment of magic or inspiration.

For me he's just too frustrating, fair enough he's a good striker but never worth £40m, neither is Dybala but at least he has more years in him and I'd rather take a gamble on his potential. After all to be the only player in Serie A in double figures in both goals and assists, in only his 2nd season in Serie A and playing for a good-average Palermo side is very impressive.

Why is this thread open? The president say he, Ibra and Pastore we're not leaving. And we can't sign him without selling Pogba.

Big no.

K thx bye.

I know. Juventus is apparently too powerful in attack for Cavani to add something.
That's not the issue. The issue is, is he worth spending every last penny the club has, or are there better and cheaper options? A player like Higuain is more creative and has scored 20+ goals for a top club, and not just middle table team on a lucky run like Napoli. Cavani does not have 40 yards of space ahead of him like he did in Napoli.

If anyone here watched Ligue 1 and see the chance after chance this guy misses, you'd change your mind.

I'd rather see chances missed than not having them at all like, for example, is in lloriente's case
