What if we're getting Cassano himself with Giovinco being his sub? :tuttosport:
Including Dzeko?

Those are too many transfers that need to happen :D

We already have 6 strikers according to Del Neri and his tactical system (Del Piero, Diego, Giovinco- Amauri, Trez, Iaquinta). 5 of them earn a lot.

If there is a Dzeko-Diego swap, then we still have 6 strikers while we need 4. If Giovinco leaves that's 5 strikers, 4 of which tall strikers who aren't creative.

Cassano for one of the tall ones. We still have 5 strikers, very high earners.

We still need to sell 1 of them.

Too many if's and too many sales and buys for that to happen :agree:

Now that you mentioned Cassano, Jack:

Secco: 'We had a deal for Cassano' Thursday 22 July, 2010

Juventus’ former director of sport Alessio Secco has revealed that he had an agreement to sign Antonio Cassano, but some people in the club weren’t ready for him.

Secco left his post this summer as Juventus underwent an extensive rebuilding process both on and off the pitch.

His time in charge of player recruitment is widely regarded as a failure and was blamed for Juventus’ disastrous performance last season.

Interviewed in this morning’s La Stampa, Secco said: “I believed that I deserved at least two lines of thanks after 13 years at Juve. It’s a lack of style.

“Since the start there was a little mistrust and indifference towards me on everyone’s part. Perhaps it was because I was young or out of envy.

“I was the one who hired Deschamps for Cobolli and Blanc. Then there was a difference of opinion during the season, and both mine and his inexperience brought about a break. But I have to complement him. Didier was one of the few people to say that he made a mistake… in leaving Juve.”

“Ranieri must get the credit for exceeding expectations in his two seasons. Then on certain arguments there wasn’t total agreement, but that’s football.”

When asked to name the players he nearly signed, Secco said: “Mascherano in January 2007, I signed him: He would have come on loan even in Serie B. He told me that he couldn’t because the ownership of his contract was a mix between clubs and people, and Juventus have an ethical code. He started to cry.

“We had Cassano in our hands two or three years ago. But there was confusion on someone’s part: I knew instead that Antonio was no longer an enfant terrible.”

Secco also gave an insight into the signing he is most proud of from his time at Juventus.

“Sissoko and also Diego despite the last year.”

Finally, Secco revealed who he would have hired to replace Alberto Zaccheroni.

“Capello. He’s the only one who would have been able to do better last year. But he wouldn’t have come. He’s too happy in London.”

So Del Neri said last week: "“I repeat, I am playing with a central striker and one that plays behind him or with two high strikers, not two deep ones."

In case we do buy Dzeko and sell Diego, then we will only have Del Piero to be the striker playing behind Dzeko and having to play Cassano's role in Sampdoria, or we will have to play with 2 tall strikers and rely on our magnificent wingers.

I don't like it.
keep giovinco and play him as a second striker like cassano, apart from size and strength they have very similar attributes

Bring in Dzeko and Cassano and sell Amauri and Iaquinta. We'll end up with:

Del Piero, Cassano, Giovinco - Trezeguet, Dzeko

We had Ibrahimovic and Trezeguet playing together many years ago. Difference then we had Nedved and Camo. Plus Ibra was a god at creating for himself.

That is a damn good goal though.

My favorite part was when he was down on the byline giving Belgium the business before he squared the ball to the other guy who had his shot blocked.
