Marotta doesn't seem to have those kind of ambitions for the club right now. Maybe next year but this season he doesn't seem to be going for players that would excite the fans.
Now I know that its a major sin these days to sound pessimestic on this forum but I'm going to speak up anyway. All the signings we've done so far are signings that would be expected by a team like Genoa for example. Pepe, Martinez, Storari and Motta are players I wouldn't have been surprised if they ended up in Genoa, and I'm not even mentioning Del Neri. The only signing I'm excited about so far is the signing of Bonucci, and I really hope he isn't a one hit wonder.
I would have loved for the team to have signed only 3 or 4 quality players but Marotta seems to be going for 7 or 8 quantity players.

At the end of the mercato we can see what is realistic, with this current team, 4th place, with Dzeko, a LB and a RW, Scudetto.
