Of course. Nobody expects DP to be starting every week but there is a big difference between using a player conservatively and turning your back on him because you think he's finished.
I want to use he conservatively because he's getting on in years, isn't that the same thing?

After all, we don't want a situation where Alex is overused to the detriment of his 'replacement'.

I'd rather see a blaze of glory than a petering out, don't you think Alex deserves that....?

I disagree, saying that DP isn't fit to start every game means that he is still able to contribute to the team when not fatigued and when coming off the bench. The club still has use for him.

IMO saying he is finished means he can no longer contribute and the club has no use for him anymore in any role.

I believe that this club still has plenty of use for DP for at least the next season and should continue to evaluate his condition each year.

Yeah I was so wrong to say that Ciro shouldn't play ADP out of loyalty instead of form, what a fool I was.

I love Alex, he is a titan of football but his career is winding down, his final season, this one, should be as an ancillary player, not a backup, no my good fellows but a player that we know CAN'T start every game so we should save him for when he is needed.
So long he's our best player and so long there's no better alternative, Ale should start.

What bothers me is that the season didn't even start and the Del Piero discussion is all over again. People should get over him.
