Another peach of a statement from you. What was our main problem last season? It was scoring goals. We certainly did not lack chances to score as were one of the teams that created the most scoring chances in all of Europe. Is a Jovetic a CF? No. He doesn't score enough goals, he is not particularly good at getting into the right position to score and he's much better playing off a CF.

I'll repeat it yet again, you are basing your opinion on your fapping instinct, not reason.
You need someone that scores goals and is clinical at it. Players other than CF's may fit that description.

Indeed. However, Jovetic doesn't fit the above bill, he can't lead the line and score enough goals to pay 30 million euros for him and play him as a CF.

We should put a 22 million euros bid for Dzeko once RVP goes to City(which we will I think) and be done with this discussion.

Ok. Whatever you say

I'm sure Jovetic can bang in more goals with the right setup. He still scored more goals than any of our forwards last year. With him and Vucinic in a 3-5-2 leading the line, we will create even more chances, and the conversion rate might potentially increase as well. If we are struggling, then by all means bring Pazzini off the bench. However, as it stands, it looks like the fucker from Inter might be our only meaningful signing in attack.

Dzeko again

He's destined to be a superstar that will score and create many goals. He will be worth 40m plus before you know it. Playing him as one of the front three will transform our team. He is really the best chance we have at getting a truly world class attacker any time soon.

First, Fiorentina don't want to sell. Second, we don't have 30 million euros to spend on Jovetic simply because of the wow factor. What we need right now is a reliable finisher and he is not that.

I'm sorry but it's not simply the wow factor we're talking about here. It's a player that will potentially completely transform our attack into something lethal for many season's to come. I wouldn't mind Dzeko the giraffe, but Jovetic is set to become something else.

Great. So let's go with Dzeko, miss out on signing Cavani/Higuain next season, and watch as other teams snatch all the top players, while we are stuck with their hand me downs

It's fucking frustrating. Fuck the sheiks, fuck the Spanish banks, and fuck the Russian oil tycoons who are destroying football. Oh, and I can't wait to see how Platini aims to implement FFP with those guys pumping money into their clubs. I'm sure they are going to find loopholes  :howler:

Either loopholes or they'll just gently make threatening suggestions to Platini and UEFA.

Thb, considering we got vucinic as one of 2 strikers in a 3-5-2 and vucinic+isla in a 4-3-3

we need clinical finishing

our dreamlist should be something like

higuain > cavani > dzeko > pazzini

due to no movements by the teams with the money, the first 3 arent an option, so its pazzini

No. That's just BS! If you want a player to join you, you try your fucking hardest. I get the impression Marotta just always goes for the simplest option, as opposed to trying hard enough.

This attitude you are proposing is the attitude of a defeatist and someone who lacks ambition. Hey, we can't get option 1,2, or 3, let's go for option Z. Last year it was excusable as we had finished 7'th, had no CL, and no one was willing to take a risk and join us.

Apparently Jovetic really wants us, and we have agreed terms with the player if reports are to be believed. The fact that his club president doesn't want him to move is not entirely irrelevant, but it's the players who hold the power these days. If Marotta pushed hard enough, we'd be getting Jovetic, but as always, when it comes to the meaningful deals he has shown to be lacking. Penny pinching because of 2-3 or even 5 million Euros to get someone like JoJo is ridiculous. Instead let's just keep wasting money padding our midfield with the Giacherrinis and Padoins ofthis world

We know it sucks.

Lets just try to accept it, because we're only torturing ourselves if we get this upset.

I believe there are many things to look forward too next season.

I'd rather get Jovetic than waste 7-8 Million on Pazzini. This whole CF thing is so over-rated. If we can't get Higuain/Cavani now, there's always next year, when we might potentially have more money and can focus solely on the attack.

Jovetic is the kind of player you acquire regardless of whether he is needed or not, due to the massive potential he has, and what he can help this club accomplish. Perhaps you don't see it, but I do, and I really believe in that kid. If we miss our chance to get him this summer, we are never getting him.

Good luck trying to challenge the European heavyweights with a front line of Vucinic, Gio, Pazzini, and Quag  :howler:
Which ever way you look at it, a big name player is essential for success at the highest level. The Pazzinis and Matri's of this world can only get you so far before you hit your head on your level of quality ceiling. You want quality, you've got to pay for it. If you're happy with average or above average, then Pazzini will do, but you will never be anywhere near the best.
Ok. Whatever you say

Yeah sure. We are going to win Serie A again. As for Europe, let's just hope we get an easy group so we don't get owned!
lol

Fiorentina don't want to sell.

What is so hard to understand? Jovetic is their player. Whether he wants to leave or not is irrelevant. Neither of you is at the negotiating table with them having to follow a budget. Go support Barca or City if you want star players signed on a whim.

AND

How the hell do any of you know that Conte didn't ask for everyone so far BEFORE a striker? How do you know that depth and reinforcements weren't Conte's priority before a ST?

That's right...you don't.

Let the people that get paid to run a multi-million dollar club do their fucking jobs.

And you go on doing yours.

---------- Post added 27.07.2012 at 01:36 ----------

I don't think we'll get owned, but we'll be irritating as fuck with creating so many chances and finishing nothing.
Same as last year but we went undefeated.

Players have more control these days, not the clubs. If Marotta pushes hard enough, and Jovetic really wants us, it should be a done deal.

I'm not asking us to sign players on a whim. Get your facts straight. I'm asking for a quality player from a Serie A team in gradual decline. A very achievable goal one should think.

Oh, and while we are at it, let's just shut down the forum and end all discussions, since we aren't Marotta or Conte, and can't do their jobs. What's the point of discussing shit then anyway, eh?

I really don't see us doing well in Europe. I was actually looking forward to us building a formidable attack over the next 2 years. I guess I was wrong. Let's just buy more average shit and struggle to offload them later when they don't perform (Amauri, Iaquinta, and the list goes on).

If anything, past mercatos should've taught us not to compromise on quality in attack, but obviously that lesson hasn't been heeded.
