Dusan definitely had a bad game, but come on. Here are some highlights from yesterday, obviously none of it worked out, but exactly how many times Amauri did provide killer crosses like at 0:12 or freed himself up with neat footwork like at 1:30? even in a bad game like yesterday it should be apparent that skill wise this guy is many levels above trees like Amauri.

His performance yesterday was Amauri-esque. He's definitely not an Amauri level player.

I still believe he's young and have a lot of room for improvement. Also, to be honest, I won't judge him without a pre-season with important players like Chiesa, a proper creative midfielder and full backs.

I'm afraid you might not get to judge him at all :D

The video doesnt show the many duels he lost tho. Without a doubt one of the negative notes yesterday.

Early days but I expected a bit more tbh

Poor guy have to work his ass off while running for long balls, then carry the ball by himself and also he didn't get enough of key passes inside the box :sergio: Allegriball :touched:

Put Allegri in Liverpool and they will fight for top 4 finish at its best, suddenly Robertson will turn into Alex Sandro, Trent will not push forward and Fabinho, Tiago and Henderson will turn into Rabiot, Bentancur and Arthur, high pressure? Nah, let sit at the back and inshallah and pray for long balls

It is hard to explain given that Fiorentina's set up isn't materially better than Juve's. I suppose Saponara and Castrovilli like playing a bit closer to goal.

I don't know exactly what's to be expected from a center forward who is that isolated, that tightly marked and receives very predictable passes. I mean, is he supposed to trap the ball with an 80kg defender on his back, do some miraculous turn and lose him or nutmeg him or something? He rarely has a team mate to quickly lay the ball off to. He's asked to hold it up for an unreasonable amount of time. I don't recall many strikers, if any, who thrived in those circumstances. Maybe if we had a Pirlo and a Del Piero he could possess the ball with an inch or two of space to work with. Our midfielders barely play box-to-box the way Marchisio or Vidal did.

Amauri did not play like that. Amauri was just super slow, heavy touches, poor finishing, no skill on the ball. I think Vlahovic did not badly bar that missed chance from six yards out considering that he's so damn isolated.

I’m usually not a statistics guy but this one paints the whole picture.

Are we the new Man U?
Yes. We need to evolve beyond this dumb archaic catenaccio-style football that totally neglects the attack. We saw it with Ronaldo, now we're seeing it with Vlahovic. Sooner or later Chiesa will also receive the same treatment. His drop in form after the euros was noticeable, and no I don't believe it was just because of a little knock to his ankle v England as people here resort to as an excuse.
We are making ourselves an unattractive destination for many top attacking talents.
