Confidence goes a long way, and last season he had none as we played like a pack of cunt bags all season! If we can continue to put in performances like we did in that first half against udinese, then I reckon he will come good and get back to his best.

His movement, first touch, hold up play and passing are all terrible. Maybe terrible is harsh but definitely not good enough to be at the level expected of him.
Confidence can play such a huge part in those things in my opinion so it was made to look even worse last year.

One of the best centre forwards in the world in Lewandowski looked awful at the end of last season and this season so far, his confidence seems to have dropped, his first touch has deserted him and his movement is off because he keeps going to search for the ball. Proves it happens to even the best of players who have been consistent for many years previously.

Best example for me is Fernando Torres.

Either he was a truly world class CF who later lost all confidence and became dogshit, or he was never really that good to begin with and somehow lucked his way into performing at the top level for years as a fluke before being exposed.

If you buy an actual #9 you need to feed them chances. They're never going to pick the ball up 40 yards from goal, drive past 3 players and tuck it in. The plus side is, if they're good enough they should be lethal in the box.

Obviously Vlahovic needs to improve his overall game but beyond the basics it's not gonna happen.

What most teams do is end up padding their squad with 'forwards' that are way better at everything else except they miss 7 chances a game & there's no movement in the box.

Last seasons Chelsea & Bayern are great examples. None of those modern 'forwards' are ever in the right place at the right time, they all want to be the guy who makes the play.

Looking a lot sharper and focussed than last season.

Magnificent header for his goal and very unlucky not to have another.
What did you think of the disallowed goal? Personally I thought it was very harsh. No way the keeper has time to react to the shot regardless of where Rabiot is.

I suppose it was evened out by nothing happening to Iling Jr after that clear red and penalty, but I'd rather have had the goal and the penalty/red both given

Truth is he would have likely never scored that kind of header last season so that already is an major improvement, still plenty to work on but so far he does seem genuinely more confident so hopefully can continue to build on it.

Good news: It looks like he's ready to take his game to another level this season.
Bad news: Allegri is the coach.
Honestly he scored 2 goals +1assist to Chiesa and had one goal disallowed but I still think he plays terribly except for these goals. I think he is a great player who should be given a different instructions in build up plays - He cant play the pivot role as good as Lukaku or even Milik.

I thought it was very harsh too, I don't think his view was blocked. I've watched Juve for years and genuinely can't think of a time when we have received that call when defending and can remember a few not given.
