I never really watched him much at Fiorentina, so was this the case while he was there too? I specifically remember during his transfer saga the word "generational talent" was thrown around here and there, I figure he had to be showing something besides goals to be called that.

I watched a fair amount of his games at Fiorentina and didn’t think this to be the case. He was raw, didn’t get bullied, had a decent first touch and often had two wide players making inverted runs behind defences. His right foot isn’t bad by any means. His only real weakness looked to be his aerial ability.

The basics seem to have deserted him when he had the pubalgia/groin injury around October and he just hasn’t looked fit ever since. That along with his confidence falling down the shitter and his enthusiasm for the game and the fight disappearing, have made him look distinctly average ever since.

There is a gem in there, we’ll sadly have to see if another team can polish him.

He still scored 10 goals for us with just around 27 matches (as first team or come from bench). We played defensive football here. Imagine he play with attacking team like Bayern.

With still 23 years old, good work ethic and high upside, we shouldnt sell less than 100m.
