Probably BS but we can dream.

Old Lady enter Drogba race Tuesday 23 October, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unsettled Chelsea star Didier Drogba would consider a move to Juventus, according to his agent Etienne Mendy.

The Ivorian hitman has been strongly linked with Inter and Milan since he publicly declared his desire to leave Stamford Bridge.

“It’s no secret that Didier likes Milan a lot as he jets off there whenever he gets some time off, but we can’t discount the other big Italian side Juventus,” Mendy told Fuori Zona on Sky Sports Italia.

“It’s clear that his relationship at Chelsea isn’t as good as it was when Jose Mourinho was there, but he is a professional and knows that you can’t be attached to a Coach.

“But if he is to leave Chelsea it will only be for La Liga or Serie A.”

Juve sporting director Alessio Secco is currently in London, where he is said to be in talks with the Blues over Frank Lampard.

It is suspected that Secco may take the chance to start talks over Drogba while he is in England.

    If he comes, who'll leave?!!!
    Dunno.

That is part of why I think it is BS, we will be concentrating on other areas of the side to strengthen as we are pretty well covered up front.

We just need a 5th choice striker for next season.

But can he play with Trezeguet??
    It is debatable.

I always thought Drogba was best for Chelsea when he played as a lone striker with wingers supporting.

I would say Drogba's movement would be good enough to play with Trez. In theory it could work in a similar way to the Trez-Iaquinta partnership.

But Iaquinta likes to go wide,he comes deep sometimes..Drogba is more a box striker.

Drogba will not be taking from Trezeguet's space in the box, he is usually outside the box and comes in. I think they can function together ... or at least I hope so :D

At the same time probably not, but squad depth with world class starters and substitutes is needed to do equally good domestically and in Europe.
We had Ibra and Del Piero fighting for one position. In 2005 Milan had Inzaghi and Crespo fighting for one position, Inter payed big bucks for Suazo eventhough he's a sub for Ibra. Liverpool had 4 equally good attackers and they still bought Torres.
If we make it to cl next year Trez will have more than 50 matches to play, only for Juve. If he gets a call for the euro and if he plays there, we can't rely on him only.

Not necesseraly Drogba, it can be Huntelaar or someone else, but we do need another world class target man.

Moggi looked at him to replace Trez before DD went to Chelsea. They could play together but I'd spend my $$$ on players we need more and a Trez replacement that's about 22-25 years old.

Perhaps your right but i feel Drogba would excel more if he was played with DP.the same can be said for Trezeguet.
Absolutely. But you asked if Trez and Drogba could work well together. Both are better suited to having a SS with them rather than another CF.

Yes they did. Trouble is, our strikers are a club legend (Ale), our highest ever foreign goalscorer (Trez), a hardworking back up man (Iaquinta), & a choice of rising stars for the 4th spot - Giovinco/Palla.

Hardly comparable to Kuyt/Crouch/Bellamy & an over-the-hill Fowler.

    :agree: 100%.
