i always wanted to inform myself about those dreamboxes but couldn't find any useful information. Maybe there is anybody here in these forums who could help me. I know the internet is full of forums and pages of dreamboxes but for a n00b like me, this is pretty difficult to understand. I'm lacking some basic knowledge about those dreamboxes. How does it work (exactly), how much does it cost, where to get the appropriate firmwares, etc. etc...

Dreambox is a Digital sateliete reciever. who has Built in CAM, in which that CAM cane be used not only one type, but many. for example CAMd, Scam, comoninterface etc.. you can update these CAMS with KEYS thru your PC or thru Internet Directly, so that you will watch scrambled channels for free..

you can also View your Dreambox in your PC if you connect them thru a cable, or a Router, and also record it on your pc, without buy any other hardwares, you only need Cable or a router If you have one..

you also can share you Original cards (of scrambled channels) with other Dreambox users, if both of you connect the Dreambox with Internet.

I am sure there are much more options than these.. It's around 200$ in Europe, the small one 500 series, the 7000 series is more than the double of that price, but have lots of options.

her in rsa i have a pvr satelitte system that can record programmes & has a harddrive on it.it can also pause programmes & recording can be split on 2 tv's.
I think you can add a Hard disk (specially made for Dreambox), and some of them are included. yes it has the record and play options. and you can also connect it to your PC's Hardware, and also play files from your computer, be it MP3 or Video Files

there's only DSTV in rsa snoop & they are a monopoly, they basically buy channels from various channels like RAI Int,Skysports etc.

if somebody had the balls to rival them, they would make a killing.subscriptions across africa are ridiculously expensive.
