Dp Injury And Lippi's Choices (1 Viewer)

I like your formation Majed. Lippi has admittedly said that he'll change things around. I can't wait to see what he has up his sleeves for Man Utd. You know he'll do anything - he does whatever is necessary. Not just tactics, but a complete change in formation isn't too unlikely.

As for people saying "without del Piero we are nothing," what the hell this all about? Del Piero is one of our better players - true, but this is a team of 11. When one person steps out the others step up - that's how it works. Morever, Del Piero is NOT indispensable. We are not in any form of crisis, and if you think we are, then you're just full of crap.

I'm not so concerned about Man Utd. Di Viao should replace Del Piero, and the rest should remain same. W/o Del Piero we lose more than a little up front, but our defense should stay the same with Ferrara leading the way. Iuliano should replace Montero to add a little more pace. I look forward to a good ass-whooping. The game with Empoli is the one that worries me more. We'll be w/o Del Piero, Conte, Camoranesi, and Davids.

Somebody, somewhere mentioned that we have been playing very inconsistent, and that just adds more to the "turmoil." It's true we are not a very consistent team, but we always play our best in a big game. So, don't worry. We are more focused and ready to leave everything on the pitch than ever before, and we may very well stun the crowd at Old Trafford.

you say that, and it sounds true in theory. but over and over again we fail to play well without DP or Nedved. those two have very special roles in our team, and we don't have anyone to replace them. our team has many times this season(when i've seen them) looked fragile, poor with the ball when not counter attacking and less than convincing. this doesn't exactly improve with DV instead of DP.

guys, against MAN U,what do you think of this: 3-1-3-3

---------------Buffon
-Thuram----Montero---Ferrara
---------------Davids
---Camo----Nedved---Zambro
-------Salas---Trez--Di Vaio

I'm thinking, it'll be a battle between the midfields because look at the quality of both teams:

Juve: Nedved, Davids, Camo, Zambrotta
Man U: Keane, Scholes, Giggs & Becks, Veron

Quite a great match-up aint it? Anyway, with a tight battle like this in the middle of the pitch, we really have to make the most out of our attacking opportunities. Sure, if DP was there up along with Trez there wouldn't be any problem. But since il capitano is absent, three strikers would quite fill the gap dont you guys think. We have to make the most out of every attack, and we have to make sure we convert them. We can't afford slip-ups against Man U. Because I'm pretty sure Man U won't be making slip-ups when they get chances to attack.

And for those of you who think having only 3 defenders would be risky and dangerous against Man U, i have a point to prove:
If we have this much quality in midfield from both teams, it would be more ideal to put the bulk or strength of our team in the midfield as well. And knowing that Man U has a deadly attack at form lately (let's face it), it would be risky to battle it with a four man defence. We may have a good defense to put up against them, but hell, they've got a good attack that we've got to stop as well. So my solution is that we keep attacking, to keep Man U at bay. Let them do all the defending. Let's pour it all out in attack. 'Cos lately, everytime i see Man U play, they're always attacking, and forcing their players to go up. So i'm assuming that they've been quite rusty in working-on in their defense. And quite frankly, I think three strikers would be too much for a defense like Man U. Taking into consideration that Ferdinand is out-of-form.

Anyway, it sure would be a super classico match.
Forza Juve!

we need to steel our midfield... i'm thinking of 4-5-1 at the moment. lippi is crazy enough to do that. i mean with 4 defenders, camo and zamby will have support from the wing-backs. and that means nedved may have to play behind trez... so that means DV might be dropped. but with davids and tach/conte in the centre, i'm sure our midfield will be steeled up for man utd. well just a thought....

i feel very sorry for Alex's injury cause he's a real value for both Juve & the Azzuri & i hope that it won't take him much time to get back , as we have also Crespo injured but we have Bati now though i don't think he can add much to our offense , Hernar is much better.

forza Azzuri & Inter.

In Short: too offensive, and your giving ManU exactly what they want.

you have no midfield what so ever. Davids can't destribute the ball well. Nedved, Camo and Zambrotta run with the ball as soon as they get it.
Sorry but I think Davids will do exceptionally well distributing the ball from DM to AMs.

You also have no wings or defensive back. That means Heaven for Beckham and Giggs!!
You're right about that. Good point. Taken into consideration.

That's something I hope to see.... :D

Going back to the whole, Forza Inter seems to have rounded well. Its nice to see civilized conversation and brain-storming between juventinis and internazionales.

But talking about the CL game, I've been convinced that we do have to really strengthen our midfield more than what I had previously accounted for...

i am convinced that we should play only one striker(trez, duh) and strengthen our mid.we should also try to exclude slow players eg. pessotto, ferrara from the lineup no offence to them but with solksjaer, giggs and co.

i don't want speed to be the cause of our downfall.-imagine:

"juventus lost because pessotto couldn't keep up with giggs who played in a cross to solksjaer who left montero smelling his dust and headed home etc....."

You've digged up an year-and-a half-old thread therefore all the discussions were outdated and that explains your "?"
I was check if it was possible to submit in old threads, anyway we had always problems with DP, injuries, not in form etc.
