Couldn't this be just a money laundering scheme though? I don't think a player could be this dreadful and uninterested unless there is something very wrong about it. This transfer was fishy since the first day imo.
It’s not money laundering in the traditional sense. But Aston Villa needed to raise a certain amount of money before 1st of July to satisfy the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules. This was all out in the open, so there’s nothing insidious about it. But it is definitely a financially engineered move.
But maybe, just maybe, he doesn’t really wants to be here and was forced? His attitude on and off the pitch just seems off. Bear in mind he was a top performer in the prem for years.

but it’s not like Juve needed to sell Enzo and Iling, so what was the motivation on their end? I think they saw an opportunity to get a top mid in the prem, and went for it. I think the issue is more tactical. Makes me wonder if Motta wanted him to begin with. Where does Luiz fit even theoretically

I’ve always seen him as more of an AM and Kop as box to box. Maybe there is our mistake and I think he needs a little time to adapt and feels to much pressure. Either way I think he is going to leave.
I am starting to think that he wants to leave and that his Brazilian mentality is starting to work.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's being protected by management, and they're already navigating an exit strategy for him. This whole situation with Douglas Luiz isn't right and we're not getting the full story.

U mean a club convicted of match fixing and then later accused of tampering with financial records to deceive shareholders is involved in shady action? Nooooo would would have thought !!!!
calciopoli wasn't a match fixing scandal. no club was charged with match fixing, let alone sentenced
totonero was the big match fixing scandal in serie a. juve weren't even involved, milan and lazio were the protagonists and got relegated (and out of the current serie a clubs, bologna were also sentenced)

These are just his matches with the club, I think he played more than 60 matches last season if we count the NT performance too. And on top of these FIFA keep added more tournament for more $$$
If we can swap him with Sandro Tonali, I will all down for this. Newcastle can get that Brazilian chemistry and we can get that Italian chemistry
