yeah,,,i know that he is coming back for an injury.

but that last wasted opportuniy!! oh my god. That is not a fit matter,,,,your own striker instincs must push yourself to score!!. Its not the first time that he waste opportunities like this.
IM sure that if saviola were in the same possition ,,,there was nothing to do for buffon.

I believe in him(divaio),,,but i want to see the parma´s divaio.

okay,i typed out this really long essay, then thanks to that stupid refresh page i lost everything.....

but i'll sum it all up:
buffon's not good enough and never will be,sell him.
trezeguet can be replaced by loads of other better players, sell him while he's still so overrated.

and like the title says, son't shoot me:)

we cant control injuries tho.

im disapointed with DV tho.
why?

And you can hardly blame him for missing the chance. He's not fit and he only just came on!

we couldn't sell buffon, these forums would die
8o% of the posts are in "buffon's gallery" and "news about gigi" :D

seriously though, i would be content to sell trez but i don't really have an opinion about gigi. i copped major flak (how's that for aussie slang) from a friend yesterday for saying i was discontent with trez of late, so it's good to be reminded that people agree :)

if he's not fit, why did you want him to start the game.
i doubt he would "terrorize the defenders for the full 90 minutes"
!

point taken, bu that doesn't suggest that he would last 90 minutes.

I think Lippi didn't put him on because he just came back from injury (he wasn't so exceptional injury-free, so you could only imagine what he would be like after a long lay-off)
Also, because DP seemed to be creating some chances.

Also, the fact the Lippi has as much faith in Zala as you do ;)

I know he doesn't score but I mean playing one up front who is in reality a second striker anyway is just ridiculous in a home game. Why is Zala even in the squad if Lippi has no faith in him? Or is Lippi just a fool?

i know, not it seems like a bad choice, but lippi really had to make a gamble. he chose DP as a lone stricker as there could have been a chance that he would do well. appearantly, lippi was wrong.

maybe he thought that DP would do a better job than Zala.

i didn't like how he came up with a defensive strategy.

Why is Zala even in the squad if Lippi has no faith in him?
i meant that Lippi does have more than enough faith in him. this is obvious because he put Zala in before he put DV.

...

this is how i would have played:
----------------------------Buffon------------------------------
--Thuram-------Tudor-------------Ferrara----Zambrotta
----------------------------Tacchi----------------------------
-------------Camo-----------------------Davids--------------
----------------------------Nedved----------------------------
---------------------DV----------------DP----------------------

Then place Zala instead of DV in the second half.
then, when ZAmbrotta asked to be replaced, i would he just put pessotto or biri and not rotate the players' positions (so i wont mess up the team composure)

this would have been a more attcking line-up since it was a home game.

Yeah thats about what I would have done too Majed, its a much more sensible and impressive team than the one Lippi fielded, and the way barca played (not great) last night, this team may have been able to hurt them quite a bit.

Its all in the past now though, I can't see us surviving a barrage at the nou Camp, our only hope is in counterattacking.

yeah

sadly, the odds are against us, but you never know.

what keeps my hopes alive is:
have you ever thought that Roma (in their bad spell) could beat Valencia in the Mestalla 3-0

...lets hope for another one of those miricles :)

yep, and remember it is easier for us to play away with our style of play. We are too crap creatively to break teams down, so we rely on them being a man or two down at the back, counterattacking right through them and scoring. We need to sit back and absorb the huge pressure Barca will heap on us, then with a fully fit Nedved and Di Vaio, with Del Piero providing the quality, we can get through their defence and bang! goal

there is one prob: a 0-0 result would be good for them, so at one point in the game, IF ;) they dont score, we're gonna have to push forward. :scared:

and if they do score a 1st goal, it's all over as they could counter attack with all their fast players.

what's giving me hope is that their defense sucks, and they're not particularly good at absorbing pressure then countering. they usually like controling the game.

you're right in that a 0-0 would be good for them, but their barca! primary concern is to attack and score. Believe me they won't stop till its 3-0 on the night :D

We can easily score there though, heck most teams do, its just our defence that I am concerned with, this is a match for Thuram to play CB on Saviola, he has to he is the only one fast enough. Tudor can man handle Kluivert too.

 @ Man-handle...i think you meen: "Giant-handle" ;)

I agree about Thuram marking Saviola.

That would make the linup like this:
----------------------------Buffon------------------------------
--Birindelli----Thuram------------Tudor-------Zambrotta
----------------------------Tacchi----------------------------
-------------Camo-----------------------Davids--------------
----------------------------Nedved----------------------------
---------------------DV----------------DP----------------------

i think Zambrotta should stay on the RB to hold Overmars (he's fast too)

Yeah I'd be happy with that as a lineup. If things get desperate we could always introduce Montero if we need a goal ;)
