Zdenek Zeman has accused Juventus official Antonio Giraudo of conducting a smear campaign to keep him out of work. "He is a damaging director," he said.

Zeman, during a spell as Roma Coach in 1998, was the man whose allegations in an interview first opened the investigation into the Juventus doping scandal, which last week resulted in Giraudo and club doctor Riccardo Agricola being acquitted of sporting fraud.

The highly-rated former Lecce tactician claims that in recent months he has not found regular work and that this is due to Giraudo exerting his considerable influence in a malevolent way in Italy’s footballing circles.

Giraudo, general manager Luciano Moggi and Vice-President Roberto Bettega form Juve’s famous ‘Triade’ which has a huge influence over the comings and goings in the Italian transfer market.

Deals are struck, loyalty is rewarded, but enemies can also be made in the Machiavellian world of Italian football.

Zeman suggests that by speaking out against the Bianconeri and, indeed, testifying in court during the trials, he made himself a professional pariah.

"In 30 years I have always been able to work," said Zeman. "But not anymore, and I think that this is more down to Giraudo’s handiwork than my poor work.

"That’s the rumour that has been going around anyway," he added. "He is a dangerous director."
