Berardi gets first Italy call
Domenico Berardi received his first senior call-up for Italy’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia and friendly with Portugal.
The Azzurri – minus the Juventus men involved in the Champions League Final – will meet tomorrow afternoon at the Coverciano training ground.
It is the first senior call for Sassuolo forward Berardi, who at the age of 20 has scored 15 Serie A goals and provided 11 assists this season.
However, his teammate Simone Zaza requires a fitness test to see if he will remain with the squad.
Milan hitman Stephan El Shaarawy returns after a lengthy injury lay-off along with Mattia De Sciglio.
Italy play a crunch Euro 2016 qualifier against Croatia in Split on Friday June 12.
They then take on Portugal in a friendly in Geneva on June 16.
