I'm confused, who is the 3-5-2 accommodating? :D
3-5-2 is accomodating Pirlo, whilst compensating for the poor central defenders in modern football.

Allegri said if barzagli is back he'd try a back4. now we saw that Pirlomidfield<<<marchisiomidfield, its opening the way for more offensive options cause the 3cm is strong enough to back it up

Seriously what the $#@! are you talking about? Do you even read the bull$#@! you write?

How did you come to conclusion that Coman who played only 85 minutes in Serie A is more mature and proved than Berardi who played 35+ games and scored 15+ goals in the process?

plays 85 minutes = proved :howler:
So Coman, based on one game, is a proven mature player while Berardi has everything to prove?

It's because Berardi has never played for Juventus, while Coman has. And since the all-knowing management decided to keep Coman on the side this year, Coman is obviously the better player.

Since when? That was the whole reason for the initial switch from the 4-2-4 to the 4-3-3

If you have midfield consisting of Marchisio, Vidal and Pogs there's no need for that 3rd CB in order to provide more cover, since all 3 of them are rather good defensively, Marchisio will stay behind of course to make room for more competent players to do their magic. It's natural if you have Pirlo in the team that you'll need far more defensive cover for him, since the old man can't perform defensive duties on adequate level, unless you want to limit both Vidal and Pogs in their offensive tasks. 4-3-3 for that reason can be deployed only if Pirlo is out. The issue is also with our remaining CBs, whether they are good enough in a back 4, I mean Cacares in particular who tends to have problems with concentration and decision making, therefore he can be liability at times as we witnessed against Roma. Until Barza is out there is little chance that Allegri will change current setup.

Since this is Berardi thread I will only reiterate that this kid is not ready for Juve yet. Needs to up his game, be more disciplined, show more consistency, maybe next summer but I wouldnt bet on it. Certainly wouldnt place all my hopes that he will become the next big thing, long way ahead of him. People need to stop fapping and bringing up few memebers whenever he puts in reasonably good performance considering his age to support their arguments.

Need to look at the team. Originally we had Pirlo as a creative outlet, and Vidal+Marchisio as hardworking midfielders who were offensively limited to compensate for Pirlo, but still managed to make offensive moves, cause we had Pepe as hardworking winger, and Vucinic who's off the ball workrate was greatly undervalued.

Without Pepe, we first switched to 3-5-2 to maintain a strong workload on the wing, with an improved defence, whilst allowing both cm's to make much more offensive moves.
With the breaktrough of Pogba, there was no path back, as Pogba needs to be able to press very offensively, and make offensive moves. Same with Vidal. They were allways a bit limited by Pirlo's presence, but not THAT much cause of the 3cb's and wingbacks.

Currently however there is basically what DelPiero84 explains pretty well. Marchisio is in the central midfield, so you take away a gab and replace it with an incredibly effective holding midfielder, that can cover quite a distance whilst keeping the tactics and shape of the unit in mind. This allows much more freedom from both CM's to go forward, wich we have been seen. Coupled with Tevez playing more cam/ss then actual forward, this gives a very strong central presence.

In order to have perfect balance, juventus would need the current midfield, would need strong cb's who can shine in a 4backline, and wingers who combine creativity with workrate.

Wich brings is to the topic from Berardi who can both play SS and wide. Berardi has alot of raw talent and a high workrate. I sincerely hope he's gonna break it and become consistant because he is SO perfect as a wide player in a wing based formation.

Oh you meant the team as a whole. I just took the "3-5-2 is accomodating Pirlo" part to mean you saying that (all else aside) a midfield three with Pirlo would not work, which confused me :D. Regardless even if Berardi does make the jump to that next level we'll still need an upgrade to our left side long term, and this is what worries me.

In a perfect world, both Berardi and Coman break trough, and we could technically play "Coman - Morata - Berardi" two years from now.

Considering Coman can play LW and Berardi is RW/SS

I'd love to see Berardi ellbow totti, with Morata's flying tackle catching his head before reaching the ground

Garcia can even play the violin again. Cause it would be the end of Totti's career

It's sad that he plays anything other than a RB.
