Scored 16 goals last season. Shaqiri who?

People forgot how we turned down a €22m offer from Monaco?
People forget a lot when a somewhat decent player comes to Italy and Marotta didn't want him.

Waste of time signing Squeery when we have this guy on our books.
Sarcasm or not? Do you think Berardi will be more useful to us, after another year at Sass, than Squidwird would be?

Long term Berardi has to be a player we invest in, he's putting up great numbers for his age and plays well across several positions. With him being a natural left footer coming off the right side it made no sense for us to move for Shaqiri, if Berardi returns this summer as presumed. On top of that Shaqiri is no trequartista, which is the role we currently need a player for.

Some will suggest he can play Treq but I think that's only to try and get him to fit into their narrative.

As for everything else I agree completely. I wouldn't have been against him coming this summer, however, but he seems to be continuing his form from last year. Would possibly be better if he didn't keep getting suspended. :D

His passing is legit. I mentioned it after one of his videos I posted yesterday: his through balls over the top of the defense to strikers on the run is amazing. God willing if we ever get pace (Cavani?) up top its going to be trouble for other teams.
15m + Pepe dai dai dai!
That works for me.

Yeah his passing is good enough to play there, plus he has a nice shot, but it takes a lot of responsibility to be such a key player for a big team, which is probably why we are looking at experienced players for now.

I think he needs to beef up a little bit. To me, that's probably his only weakness. He seems to track back to support when necessary ala Tevez style. His off the ball movement is nice getting himself into good positions in the box, seems to be able to finish with either foot.

We have a little gem on our hands.

do you think that maybe one day, probably in a galaxy far far away, he can become anywhere close as good as shaqiri? ^^
But why the trolling? :p

As for the question I'll tell you more: Berardi can be better and he's not too far from that. What I like about Berardi is the fact he's way more intelligent. Good vision, through balls and crossing. He can score himself as he's quite prolific in front of goal. Shaqiri is stronger and faster IMO but he's not so much a team player. Berardi IMO is a good team player and he offers more in defense.

For Berardi to make it he has to be given a proper chance though. That's what I'm afraid of the most - sitting on the bench at Juve for a year or two and his development will stagnate.
