See, that's the point. We were created in God's image, so we naturally know that the other 8 are wrong, it's hard-wired into our brains. That's why we'd be inclined to think that it's a "very good moral code". Morality and conscience were built into us by God, so He knows what's good for a health moral code.
Actually, we (or at least I) have grown up in a civilisation which is far younger than Catholicism, and which based its morals on those of the church. Is morality hard-wired into us? No. We learn it from our parents, and while I might have the education, intelligence and independance to make my own decisions, I'm still very much the product of my parents, my religion and my civilisation. Raise a child in isolation, and it's moral code can be anything you want it to be. Don't forget Gray, cannibalism is still not uncommon in parts of New Guinea, amoung others.

...btw you're a bit off on the commandments (e.g. don't swear), but i'll let that one slide :)
"Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain."
Let me read through the lines a bit, eh? :D

"I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7-8

God made the concept of time and physical dimensions, hence he's not limited by those rules. We may think infinity is such a big thing, but think about the being that created infinity :strong:
Ah, I think that maybe you misunderstand infinity. Essentially, it means that there is no end - no Omega. Thus, God is bounded, infinity is not. Therefore God<infinity. :)

as i understand it (correct me if im wrong)

the people during the time of jesus could not get to god but through him because the only way to heaven was through following what god revealed to him. so none of the people of israel could make up their own religion or turn away from jesus and think they could go to heaven, they had to go through jesus, by obeying and worshipping god as jesus showed them.

    right?
As I understand Catholic dogma (and Gray is a far better source of it than me), prior to the comming of Jesus, souls could not enter heaven. His death opened the gates.

Are there any Jews on the forum? I'd be interested to know what the Jewish dogma is on this - Jews still await a saviour from God, so do they think that they can't get to heaven before His arrival? And if not, when did opinion on this diverge? Did the Jews of 33AD believe that they needed a Saviour to get to heaven?

This is the point the answer to your question revolves around Sally. I don't know the answer.

Is that compatable with what you see today? Does Allah turn the disobedient into apes or pigs?
    Actually he did.....
"And indeed you knew those amongst you who trangressed you in the matter of the sabath. We said to them "be monkeys dispised and rejected."

    "We said"???
Is Allah referred to as plural? And if not, who said "be monkeys and dispised"? Would Allah back them up on this threat?
