BERLIN (AFP) - Brazil midfielder Diego is unlikely to play for VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga again having stormed out on his team before their crucial relegation battle, it was reported on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old is currently on holiday, but is likely to find himself out in the cold should he return for training on June 23 after Wolves coach Felix Magath is reported to have decided he will not play for the first-team again.

According to a report in German daily Bild, Magath met with Wolfsburg chairman of the board Dr Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz on Monday night to discuss the future of their bad-boy star, who is under contract until 2014.

Wolfsburg are reported to either want to transfer the midfielder for at least 10 million euros or banish him to the club's second team to play fourth division football.

"If a club wants to sign Diego, they need to get in touch with us," Magath told Bild.

Last Saturday, Diego stormed out of the pre-match team meeting after being told by Magath he had been left out of the starting line-up for their 3-1 win at Hoffenheim, which meant Wolfsburg stay in the Bundesliga.

He then refused to travel with the team to the stadium, but reported for training on Sunday morning.

So far, no club has shown an interest in signing him, but as he has an Italian passport, he would be eligible to play for Wolfsburg's second team, as only EU citizens can play for reserve teams in Germany.

Wolfsburg paid 15 million euros to Juventus for the Brazilian last August. The ex-Werder Bremen star has largely disappointed on his return to the Bundesliga and picked up seven yellow cards in 30 league games last season.

Let's buy him for 5 mill :D
Good idea :D
If we buy him for 5m it will mean that the total we paid for him is 30m eur (25+5). Minus the 15.5m Wolfsburg paid to us, it's like we bought him for 14.5m euro. Then all we need is an ok season from him, sell him for 15m eur and even make a small profit from this transfer :D

I was thinking to sell him for 17.5 Alen, you know 2,5 million can be used for the wages for the likes of Toni, Barzagli,Pepe or either Motta :D

The hostility surrounding Diego on this forum amazes me. Like he somehow stabbed us in the back when he didn't perform. Look at the circumstances and then make the judgement. I feel sorry for the guy. First he comes here with absolutely no support then he goes to Wolfsburg, they sell their top scorer and Diego is blamed for both teams bad performances. People don't seem to look at the evidence in front of them anymore. I hope he can find himself in a team where the players around him will actually work for him, that's if both Juve and Wolfsburg haven't completely ruined his confidence by then.

Fuck the haters, Diego is a great guy needs to be respected, we blamed everything on him, selling him was one of the horrible things the board started with.

 i feel sorry for Diego,we bought him and never really attempted to facilitate him,we (as we ahve done for year) bought the wrong players in the wrong positions and somehow Diego got the blame for all of our woes.
Diego COULD have been a very good player for us,he didn'y and we sold him but he has gotten far more shit than he deserves

No doubt, he's been terribly unlucky. And in large part, for no fault of his. He was if anything, mistreated by the management here. At no point did he ever want to quit Juve. It's Marrotta who sold him. Had he been given a fair shot and some continuity her I think he would've clicked for this team. Definitely had the talent to make the grade. Even at Wolfsburg, I just don't see how he gets the blame for them almost being relegated. He's the kind of player who needs very specific type of players in front of him to make him effective and he didn't really get that kind of movement at Juve and Wolfsburg. I feel bad for him, but the China rumour is just
