Diego needs to be close to goal and more support behind him to succeed. He needs good attacking players and potentially a playmaker deeper in midfield to truly find his best form, which would allow him to get himself in the shootings area around the 18. In this current setup he finds himself coming back for the ball too much since we got a crap, non-ball playing midfield.

What about this:-

Cacares-Canna-Chiellini-Grosso

Sissoko-Melo

Diego

Gio-Del Piero

Trez/Amauri

Until the summer then I would go after someone to play where Del Piero does and new fullbacks.

Thats where I want him so we have a very good passer in the central for players like Gio in front of him.

Diego will have to come back for the ball, pulling him away from the goal. That's not what we want for a shooting attacking midfielder.

Fixed:D Diego plays deep in the central and less attacking, Del Piero and Gio make better defense splitting passes.
Del Piero can be changed for Primavera players
Oh and I actually prefer Marchisio over Melo

I think Melo and Sissoko would be doing that work mate, Diego can express himself there.
The problem is Sissoko and Melo are not passers. We don't want Melo having to be the main link between the defense and attack because he can't really play that role as we've seen. So, Diego will be stuck coming back for the ball since those two dunderheads can't pass.

They did rather well in the Sampdoria game. I think both are capable of passing the ball to the final third. Were not asking for killer passes here. Just simple passes into Diego, Gio or Del Piero.

I over viewed it and instantly stopped when I saw his answer to the question who he'd want from Inter and Milan  Yeah more Brazilians, smart you are Diego.

They improved a lot, way better football they are playing now.
 We'll see what happens, I'd like to see him in the hole between DM and AM.
C'mon Sabbe, its still Maicon and Ronaldinho(Who owned us yesterday) we're talking about.

I'd welcome Ronaldinho with open arms. Amazing, joyous player to watch. Always a threat.
He had a couple of good matches this season. Good moves and some sweet assists but that's it. There's no way he's always a threat. He scored 2 stupid goals yesterday. His ass is too big to play now.

Many disappointing performances. He chokes very often.

Maicon on the other hand is a player that'd upgrade us for 2 more levels.

Well, who'd you pick from Milan? Ronaldinho is in an amazing form and Maicon is the best fullback in the world.
Maicon is awesome, but I actually would pick Santon.
Not sure who from Milan, I like Beckham a lot but he's to old so no future for him, I guess Borriello or Pato, I can't decide.

Santon is great but Maicon is already a world class player, someone who's worth over 30mln euros with crazy wages. He's out of our reach anyhow.

Beckham would be nice, his passes are sick, but old.

Borriello is so overhyped IMO. I never rated him. I always saw him as limited player, bench player for big clubs.

He has 8 assists this season, more than any of our players. He's had more than just a couple good matches, but folks hate him for zero reason, no reason at all, just because he's Brazilian and played for Barca and Milan.
