Like who? Dusandro? That's what I'm saying no one is available to us right now.
I meant lead defense, I don't know how I skipped that word :D

At the moment we can only rely on cheaper and short term solutions. I think players like Lugano and Juan would be great to have as both are classy and have brain and I think both would suit Chiellini too. Then again, I think we should've gotten Savic before City did, as he was showing potential to be amazing. Also, missing out on Zapata was kinda bad too, as his price was only 8mln and he's quality.

Why don't we go for Ivanovic who wants to play as CB and is better than Lugano and Alex combined?
As much as I'd like him, I believe that Lugano is more suitable because of his defense leading abilites. Ivanovic nor Alex are defense leaders and need Terry to tell them what to do. Players like Lugano, Vidic (not saying we're getting him) etc. are what we need.

I'm not really sure about this. I mean, if Terry was appointed to organize the defense, it doesn't mean that the other CBs in Chelsea can't do it or aren't good enough in doing it. Milan at times played Nesta and Maldini at CB and if one of them had organizational duties, it doesn't mean that the other one needed to be told what to do without being able to do it himself. Or Chelsea with Terry-Carvalho.
It mostly comes down to intelligence and experience. That's why the older guys are usually organizing the defense. Alex for example has tons of experience.

What are we waiting for??
The sign of of Lugano for 3.5 mil and Vargas for 10mil+Amauri, could turn a disastrous mercato, into a half decent one...

I don't think a Vidic kind of defender is exactly what we need. Nor an Alex. Nor a Pepe, for example.

Lugano and Coates are good examples of defenders I'd like and are at our reach. Carvalho, Nesta and Thiago Silva would perfectly fit my wishes, but they aren't at our reach. Leaders, complete defenders who could cover their teammates, smart and technically good.

Yeah, maybe not yet, but just because of Nesta then. I think he is/will be a leader because of his style, calm and intelligence at the back. He has everything to succed as a leader. In Brazil, for example, I think he'll be the leader in the future duo with him and David Luiz.

And the same can be said about Coates.

Why are they after Lugano? I mean do we really need a defender? Isn't it better to just focus on Vargas or Bastos?
We are after good deals that could improve our squad. considering lugano is a commanding centre back, it would be a good move, especially considering his price.

What are we waiting for??

Well since we made the offer, you can go to fiorentina and turkey to force them to accept it, while passing by amauri forcing to accept a significant cut in wages by going to fiorentina.

what are you waiting for ??
