I'd definitely like Lugano here. But he's not the ideal player to place next to Chiellini. They will form a very tough partnership, though. It's just that I'd rather have a finesse ball-playing CB back there, as in someone like Marquez.

But then again, when we had Ferrara and Montero back there, those two were brutes and we still did very well. Organization is the most important facet of defending anyway.

lugano is massively overrated. he is poor version of montero.

he is not a bad defender, and if he comes for less than 5 million we should pounce, but he is not this great defender that people are making him out to be, otherwise he would not be playing for fenerbeche.

Anyway I've seen this guy live when Australia played Uruguay in the 2nd leg of the 2006 WC qualifier. Kewell, Bresciano and Viduka were tormenting him all game. I got to see Paolo Montero and Zalayeta too

excellent player for that price for short term solution (2-3 yrs)...this season is very very very important as we neeeeeeeeeeed to get back to CL for so many reasons...experience will be crucial in this so i dont mind at all...we just need to get into CL people...the chips will fall into place once we get back there...

I don't think Lugano's age is too much of a trouble like it would be with for example Forlán. When you bought Cannavaro back then he was 30 iirc or close to that age, yet he was a fantastic signing.

Lugano is a pretty good CB and would do great at Juve imo.
