You can see that in hundred different ways. You could argue that Secco had more ambitions. Tiago was one of the best midfielders in France and in an impressive Lyon and Sissoko was still young and regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders before his injury.
True but have in mind that we had CL football under Secco so it was far easier to find and get players for ambitious plans. Marotta didn't have this opportunity. Moreover, he had to deal with quite a few painfully limited players who Secco had overpaid for. Marotta is the wrong man for the job if he really thinks we can aim high in the league and Europe by making a reserve team for the Azzurri but in terms of incompetency, Secco wins hands down.
Decent move for a player whose got the potential to actually be our starter. Ive always liked tough and quite dirty centre backs and Lugano comes at cheap. Cant complain.
