Wonderful news. Even though the man is very much inexperianced, Deschamps is still a wonderful football brain and great Juventino. I welcome him aboard.

I think he mixed between a 4-4-2 and 4-3-3, the first with Giuly right-midfield the second with Giuly as right forward.

Deschamps pens Juve deal Monday 10 July, 2006

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Didier Deschamps is the new Juventus boss after he signed a two-year contract with the Italian giants on Monday.

The Frenchman was in pole position to replace Fabio Capello, after his departure to Real Madrid, and his appointment was completed today.

The 37-year-old returns to the club after serving the outfit with success in the 1990s as a quality midfielder.

During his playing days in Turin between 1994 and 1999, he won three Scudetti, a Champions League, an Intercontinental title and a European Super Cup.

Deschamps, who also has an option to renew his agreement for a third season, returns to management after he was sacked and replaced by Francesco Guidolin at Monaco last term.

It’s understood that Deschamps, who could possibly face life in Serie B next term, beat Roberto Donadoni and Alberto Zaccheroni to the job.

This is good news. I'm looking forward to this season's Juve. Hopefully we'll see some effective yet attractive football this term.

    Ibarra - Squillaci - Givet - Evra

Deschamps always sticks with a back four, and switches between four in midfield to three in midfield with advanced wingers and a lone striker.

He also switched one of the midfielders for Prso upfront pretty often. Instead of Cisse usually, if I remember correctly.

DD would be sweet. This team is going to need a credibility shot in the arm after all of this, and this is a great signal of the clubs' commitment to history and success for the future.

    Welcome, DD!
