to catanacio or not to catanacio

capello's glory days at milan were when he adopted the catanacio method oreginated by trapppatoni
even lippi used it
the last time i saw it really in action was in euro2000 with dino zoff

IMO either go back to it or loose it dont try to be in the middle " Capello "

Ps: of im miss spilling it please correct me

As I know,"cattanacio" is origined by Helenio Herera while he was in inter.

I agree with you about the Zoff succes and realization!

Capello is the guy which really surprises me with his decisions,he wants to defend -2 or -1 from the first game in the knock out stages :disagree: ...

French Players have always done well in Juve, just to mention a few Platini, Deschamps, Thuram, Zizou and Trezeguet.
Deschamps can surely bring us back the old Juve.

Btw BooQy, congratulations to the Montenegrin Independence, i like Montenegro very much.

I would hire Deschamps just to rid ourselves of Capello. Sure, Didier might be inexperianced and question marks still surround his coaching ability, however he is more of a Juventino than Capello ever was and he is more flexible when it comes to tactics. Deschamps led Monaco to the Champions League Final two years ago, something Capello hasn't been able to do for a decade. And his Serie B gesture was a nice touch as well.

Juve, Deschamps ci riprova (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Juve, Deschamps us confirmation (Gazette of the Sport) Two years after, Didier is again near the bench bianconera: Elkann convinced from Platinum. It will be Didier Deschamps the allenatore of the Juventus? It is most likely. For different motive. One: who it decides it is John Elkann. Two: its advisor privileged is Michel Platinum. Three: Platinum for the bench him always advised the compatriot. Four: Deschamps is free (refused the Marseilles and for that of the Juve would renounce even to the bench of the France) and happy of to take the squad in whatever category. Fifth: of all of the candidates it is the sole with a last bianconero. The other either are getting married elsewhere or were «burnt» from the indiscretions. And this is the reason for whose Deschamps, that in these days is found in Germany like commentator of Canal +, remains covered.

But ce n' is also a purely scaramantica: already two years does Didì was on the point of to come to Turin, then to the last one jumped all for the arrival of Hair. Which, now it is clear, it will not stay to the Juve. Even if it says not before it have resolved the actual contract from beyond 7 dirty millions the Real to go. For this there it is much reserve for the succession. Deschamps, besides the credentials, has the just profile. It is young, 37 years, and after avervi won all in five years considers Turin a second homeland. Two years after to have lost col Monk the final version of Champions League has not fear of to stain itself the hands distributing from the serious Italian B together to the Juve: an all staff Italian would help to compensate for it the lack of knowledge of the opponents.

Lets presume that we get relegated to serie B and all of our great players will leave or get... loaned...
is Deschamps a good coach enough, to bring us back to serie A with inferior material???
Lets get this straight. Even if our entire starting eleven left we'd still make it back to Serie A in the quickest time possible; that's hardly the issue. Its the long term that's of the most concern.

Deschamps holds Juve talks Saturday 17 June, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today’s newspapers report that Didier Deschamps flew in to Turin for negotiations with the new Board of Directors to replace Fabio Capello.

It’s claimed that the former Bianconeri midfielder met with director of sport Alessio Secco and CEO Carlo Sant’Albano on Friday, in which he confirmed he was willing to take charge of the team, even if that meant starting from Serie B.

Juve have been in turmoil ever since the Calciopoli investigation began in May, with allegations of match-fixing, corruption, collusion with referees and sporting fraud levelled at former director general Luciano Moggi.

If found guilty, the club could be docked points or even demoted to Serie B. It has already been made clear by Sant’Albano and patron John Elkann this week that Capello would not stay in Turin if it meant dropping down to the Second Division.

The search for a successor, perhaps even without the demotion seeing as he has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, included names such as Alberto Zaccheroni, Walter Novellino and Cesare Prandelli.

Today’s newspapers insist Deschamps has been chosen for the role. The man who took Monaco to the Champions League Final in 2004 was already very close to taking the Juve bench two years ago, but was more surprised than anyone to see Capello picked instead. Above all, Deschamps has a strong history with Juventus, having played there for five years and been part of the Champions League winning squad of 1996.

The 'Gazzetta dello Sport’ claims that the crucial intervention of Juve legend Michel Platini proved decisive, as he convinced Elkann to opt for his fellow countryman. The newspaper even suggests that 37-year-old Deschamps turned down the chance to manage France so that he could accept the Bianconeri bench.

Capello will most likely reveal his future after the Real Madrid Presidential elections on July 2, as victory for candidate Ramon Calderon would almost certainly see him return to Spain.
