Why is everyone labeling Diego as a flop and failure? :wth:

In a year when Juve sucked...and when I say sucked I mean sucked, he was one of the best players who had some great matches. Showing something like that in a team that's dead isn't easy and IMO he was decent and I still think he can shine with us.
I am not labelling him as a flop nor a failure but he is the only player I came up with that has joined Serie A after the Bundesliga. I don't buy the "theory" that Bundesliga players don't cut it in Serie A, it's rubbish and based on nothing but bias and hate and I am yet to hear a name that came from the Bundesliga and didn't make it in Serie A.

Am not a big fan of bundeliga players in general. Does it mean that they're all crap or not good enough "no".

But are they overrated? IMO yes.
How are they overrated? I don't see anyone here screaming and shouting about Bundesliga players as being the best thing since sliced bread. There are certain good players that some members want to see at Juve and they are in my opinion really good players. Stop using the term "overrated" so loosely, it's not fun and the user loses lots of credibility using it.

I agree.

And not you, I just don't get why so many people mention Diego constantly when it comes to that argument.

Who was good in this years Juve? Nobody. But Diego was surely on the top.

And actually, the Bundesliga players are, if anything, underrated on this forum. When Schweinsteiger was linked with us, all of kinds of crap descriptions were thrown at him. He was made to be worse than Giannichedda. Each and every time Lahm is mentioned he is made to look worse than Molinaro.

I don't know where did you see anyone overrating Bundesliga players, I simply haven't witnessed it.

No sir i do think they are overrated. When someone like molinaro who was a clown here is voted as the best left back in the bundeliga (what does that say about that league?)

Agreed. The moment Diego joined us, people had our names on the Scudetto trophy.
forget us, we're fans...the Italian fuckin' media went apeshit after the first game against Roma...what was it, Diego = Maradona + Platini?!

for the love of God!

Why are you mixing overrating players and one odd season for an average player?

Do you even know what overrating means?

only-juve if I say that Lahm is the best wing back to ever touch a ball and at the same time I say that Messi sucks, I am neither overrating one nor I am underrating the other. I am just stating my opinion which counts for simply nothing but when media all over the world start talking about how great Lahm is day in day out and what a huge talent Müller is day in day out without achieving anything, this is called overrating.

Lahm and Schweinsteiger are really underrated here. Then again what can you expect from people who'd rather have grosso or tiago here.

it doesn't say absolutely anything. different leagues, different important characteristics that a player should have. molinaro may not be good enough for serie a but he is a very good player for bundesliga. there are many examples that show players who accomplished a lot in a certain league and nothing to another league.

and i definitely cant accept that bundesliga is a bad championship. facts show that simply this is bullshit...

i was wishing we had signed him when he was younger, before he lost his head and went into the football wilderness for a couple years cuz of his discipline.

Back then he was a pretty good winger. If we had done that though there's not guarantee he would have ended up being the same player we see today controlling the midfield from a more central position

An exaggeration, I can't see how anybody could seriously make those comparisons.

There have only been maybe 10 German players who have moved to Serie A in the last 20 years, out of those Ziege and Reuter were flops. I really can't think of many signings from the Bundesliga.

I think Luca Toni's success in the Bundesliga is all the evidence needed to see that the league is weak.
