No, as we have seen in the last game, he still has it, his existence in the bench affects our team in a positive way, he has accepted his sub roles and he can still occasionally offer some moments of brilliance when called upon.

You mean Retire in 2012/2013?

I think he should go to MLS and make some easy money. Anyways, as hard as it is, I think we should live without Del Piero from 2012/2013. I know noone can replace him, but we have to find the right SS like Neymar or Aguero to take over the role from Del Piero.

I voted yes. He's obviously still a solid player, but I think after next season, it will be time to hang up the boots. He'll get to play in the new stadium, and then he can retire while he's still a contributing. I don't think he'd be much use to us at 38, but I'd love to see him continue at the club in another capacity.

Yes, retire at the end of NEXT season, that's the poll about.

Not about the upcoming season when we know he's staying.

He gets my vote to come to Vancouver, and play for the Whitecaps. He and Steve Nash (who's a part owner) are close... ;)

Edit: Well, I don't know if they're close, but they're buddies.

I was at the season opener against TFC, and I saw a couple little kids rocking ADP jerseys... it was beautiful.

No, I think he can go for two years at least. He's still in good shape and takes great care of his condition, probably better than Krasic, Aquilani and Marchisio, who are all younger.

Who knows how he will be the next following seasons, maybe knocking more goals for JUVE, rolled the years back against Brescia. His presence alone is good for the pitch, bench, locker room and
    For the club.

As Juventus fans, why would you want DP to join another club & retire there? Have you not learnt anything with Trez joining Hercules? Club legends should retire at the club they gave their all to & you want them to play for some shite team?:sergio:

Because he got a lot of friends in USA and he'll kick ass there and earn much. I don't want him to retire yet, I want him to keep on playing. His passion for the game is incredible.
Trez was 33(?) while Del Piero will be 38-39.

I am 99% sure that he won't get a contract extension from 2012/2013.

DP is an icon, he IS Juventus personified. He's broken all sorts of records & bleeds for this team. If he plays on, it should be for Juventus & not some shite team. He should be rewarded for wasting his career with us after calciopoli. Did i really have to mention this? Melo.:sergio:

No, why? The man will still be good enough to throw in as a supersub. Put him on in the 70th minute against a tired defense and he'll have his own party.

    :D

Wow. Easy there, buddy. That was just an off the cuff remark, but to clarify:

I want Ale to do whatever makes him happy, and if he's tearing it up when he's 38, hopefully he will keep playing for Juventus. In my fantasy land, he would always play for Juventus.

If he's not tearing it up, which unfortunately is more likely (statistically speaking), I don't want to see him permanently rooted to the bench, or playing far below his standard.

I expect him to retire with Juventus - as it should be. However, if he's not in the plans and still has a burning desire to play football somewhere, I think it would be pretty fucking cool if I could go to the local stadium and watch my favorite player kick some ass.

Vancouver is a pretty damn nice place to live, and it would really help grow the sport in North America - which I'm obviously all for. We rarely get exposed to quality like Ale. Period.

This isn't really a Trez comparable situation, either. We're talking about a player who will be 5 years older than David was when Marotta made such a disgusting move.

I mean, Trez was clearly and disrespectfully booted too soon, it was obviously a sickening decision by our management. Say Ale wants to keep playing into his 40's though, clearly he wouldn't be able to offer Juventus the type of quality necessary to reclaim a place among Europe's elite.

If he doesn't want to hang 'em up - and some athletes don't - then I would happily watch him play locally. That's all.
