Alessandro Del Piero has launched a stinging attack on former Juventus boss Fabio Capello, accusing him of treating senior players like children. The 31-year-old featured mainly as a substitute during Capello's two years at the Stadio Delle Alpi, with the coach now in charge of Real Madrid.

Capello moved to Madrid following Juve's demotion to Serie B having won two consecutive league titles - subsequently stripped from the club after Italian football's match-fixing investigation.

While popular with the fans, he proved less of a hit with his club captain, who described the Juventus training regime as "terror".

"The last two years were very tough. But I can now return to playing football with love and enjoyment," said Del Piero.

Capello's sides are famed for their fitness and discipline, but Del Piero believes the former AC Milan and Roma coach's hard-line regime went too far.

"The era of terror in training under Capello has gone. After all, you can't treat a 30-year-old like an 18-year-old."

Del Piero is one of the few high-profile players remaining after a mass exodus over the summer. He said his decision to stay was motivated by his love for the club, and refused to condemn the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Gianluca Zambrotta and Patrick Vieira who have left for pastures new.

"I have understood that Juventus - as Pavel Nedved said - need senior players in order to go back up ... But I respect the decision of those players who decided to change shirts."

At first time I liked Capello.
But then I understand that he is much more a agent than a coach.
Wherewer club he goes,he gets few players for instant success, and then he always leave, does not matter which club.
And his tactics 4-4-2 is awfully bad.He got an old way of accepting football, with ,if it is possible ,"million" of defencieve midfileders.
Lippi is 10 times better and more inteligent coach then him.
And his attitude in March 2004 saying that he will go everywhere but Juve and in June after receiving and offer from Moggi he become our coach.Thats speaks for itself what kind of person he is.

Love him or not you must respect Capello. Last two season we were so strong and these seasons were the most boring since I support Juve (except that 04/05 final Milan-Juve 0:1).

I have the full interview. I'm going to translate that part and then, more slowly, the remaining ones.
Seven's right: the terror thing didn't come from him.

"Del Piero, quanto è stato difficile decidere?
Del Piero, how difficult was it to choose?
Dovevo restare".
It wasn't al clear in my head, even if the will to continue was strong, as I demonstrated last year, remaining even if I had different opinions from the coach's ones. I followed my heart. After having won the WC, after the facts of the latest 3 months, I realized that Juve, as Nedved has said, needs important, representative, players to rise again. It's what the Agnelli family, who has always loved me, the club's tradition, the fans who love me and the new managers, that are different and have made me feel right away the centre of an important project, deserve. I had to remain.

Senza Calciopoli, Del Piero poteva andarsene?
Without Calciopoli could have Del Piero left?
Yes, absolutely, I always lived calcio with passion, love, enthusiasm. When Iahve these things and people who had faith in me, the thought of leaving never crossed my mind. The last 2 years have been difficult for me. But from the first contacts with the new board I realized I could play again football as I love it.

Molto".

Quello scudetto ora è sulle maglie dell’Inter.

"No, mi fa simpatia.

Tudor has said: "With Capello there was a terror climate, now we can even smile during trainings"
He's right, joy and enthusiasm help you working. With balance: you can't spend all of your time telling jokes and you can't always be serious. And you can't behave with a 30 years old player like you would with a 18 years old".

    Altro da aggiungere su Capello?
    Anything to add about Capello?
"No. Per lui parla la sua storia".
No. His story/carrier speaks for him".

"Prima.

Come lei.
"Angelo viveva il calcio col cuore, come piace a me.

"No. Ma l’ho visto sollevato di spirito. E umanamente mi fa piacere, prima era proprio a terra".

Ultimo messaggio agli juventini in spiaggia?
