We converted Berna too late. But seriously, where else do you put players who have work rate, can kind of make a play with the ball, but lack the sharpness, quickness, etc to lead an attack?

(the bench, yes).

I guess you could say he's a SS but when you compare him with Dybala, it's not even the same species.
I don't think he has the defensive ability, the positional awareness or the passing ability to play that position with much success currently. He's a hard working attacking player, just like Berna, that currently makes the wrong decision way too often.

I wouldnt want to lose him permanently but he should leave this January, preferably to a Serie A side and Atalanta seems like the obvious choice for so many reasons.

A smart and benefitial for both sides move would be to trade Kulu to Atalanta in a 18 months loan plus option based on some performance related thingies and bring Gosens on a same type of deal - loan for 18 months with option to buy. Gosens will be ready to play some time next month, his contract is expiring in 2023 so I guess some delicate agent bullshit should be made with Ata but they already have a starter material player on the left so it wont be the hardest thing to negotiate such deals.

Pellegrini or no Pellegrini in our roster, left side is a mess and adding Gosens could mean no more Rabirabiou on the left wing, that is if we cant send him and his mama away this winter...

If there is any real interest in this guy we should cut our losses and sell before those clubs see how average he actually is and we’ll be forever stuck sending him out loans.

makes me so angry watch him do stuff like this over and over and still get gametime instead of being loaned to Salernitana
Whenever he's on the right he just stops and wants to turn to his left. He can't beat no one like that, he should play centrally and drift to the left

Why is it that we are so readily available to pay 40m upfront for trash like Kulu but apparently 40m for Tchouameni is "impossible" and too much to ask?

we don't have money for new players because we already spent our money on others

also, we never paid 40m for kulu. his transfer fee is payable in 5 years

The more we important question is why are we unable to scout, cultivate, develop quality youth that turn into productive 1st team players?

You can’t tell me that Ramseys and Bentancurs are miles ahead of what we could produce through our own system IF we actually tried setup a solid youth program.

Give it a few years, we’ll have some youth players in the first squad.

I would love to see that

I’m curious to understand what your confidence for this occurring is built on. Since this club treats youth products as revenue streams for farming out to smaller Italian sides and not future first teamers
