My understanding is, in order to be convicted of having pre-martial sex/ adultery, a few things needs to happen:
you need to have 4 witnesses that witnessed the act.
and if these witnesses turn out to be lying, then they would be punished instead.
So actually, it's not so illogical or scary. Unless you are in a porno movie, or doing it in public, it would be hard to convict you.
when was the last time you let 4 people watch you have sex?

@yamembs- whether your religion says something is just when it was written a couple thousand years ago is neither here nor there. if YOU believe that stoning someone to death for having sex outside of a marriage that they were most probably forced into then i am sorry but nobody is likely to take your side on this. it is a primitive act that seriously undermines a countries ability to portray itself as progressive and forward thinking

I don't know MY last time but I know it happened for two women in Mashhad (you know the city) last year. Come on Lion, they don't need those four witnesses. They always say the woman/man has confessed to have a parallel relationship with another man/woman. In fact I don't know when was the last time a stoning happened while there were four witnesses that witnessed the act.
If the woman is Muslim and is married, she'll be stoned. Nothing will happen for the man though (if he's not a Muslim Italian of course

If the woman isn't married and they find her guilty of having an affair with a single/married man, she'll be lashed. In the second case, the man will be lashed and the woman will be stoned.

Just imagine.... you go there, you have fun with a married woman, and when you get tired of the woman but she's a pain in the ass and you can't get rid of her, you tell the authorities that you're married and you had sex with that particular woman.
