Either way, he's a passing player, it's literally his game. And it's not unusual for central defenders to have very high or the highest numbers of passes, it'll invariably be them and the CMs with the most. Anyone who has watched a football match in the past 20 years will see central defenders knocking the ball around across the defence trying to find an opening and build from the back.

BTW those are super impressive accuracy stats for Güler as a midfielder.

Indeed..CBs should have most passes with holding mid in possession based teams. But not only is he technical and safe in passing, but what stands out aren't amount of passes for him but the type of passes. For a CB he often makes incisive down the middle passes to the AMs or attackers. He really has keen vision.

But yeah Guler is already a next level playmaker, he is like a combo of Pedri and Yamal in his type of passing.

Down the central completely controlling proceedings like Pedri, then goes wide cuts in with left and makes insanely precise crosses like Yamal. Is uncanny what giving trust and time to a young talent does to their game.

This has to go down as the worst transfer ever … I think even the inter Cannavaro fiasco wasn’t this bad

They don't have courage to admit for the masterpiece they did. By far the worst transfer in Juve's history.

Strahinja Pavlovic had more passes than anyone else in Milan, including Modric. Number 2 was Tomori, number 3 was Gabbia.

For quite some time defenders have the most passes in the team.

With Huijsen it's not impressive at all that he makes a lot of passes. It's impressive how good some of those passes are.

Yeah he's got a lovely weight of pass. Best I've seen for a defender since Bonucci, might even be better at them if we give him a career.

Still thinking his defending will be scrutinised. He got a Real Madrid whistle at one point where he put two hands out to push an Oviedo player in the back, I know damn well that'd be a penalty with a Juve jersey on and it probably should have been. He has an experienced and high quality defender who covers well alongside him so it seems like a good balance until he gets more and more experienced.

Remember guys this is a player who is starting for Real Madrid and the Spanish national team at just 20 years old, who we sold just last year for less than 20m euros.

And many members here said it was a fair deal and that he wasn't worth it anyway. They said he wouldn't of started here ahead of Gatti. Never forget.

I haven’t watched his games, but the stats that have been highlighted about him are mostly related to passing and build up play. You can’t judge a defender solely on those numbers. his defensive stats, especially in big games against top attackers like Yamal and others he’ll face this season, also need to be analyzed.

I think if Huijsen had stayed at Juve, it’s unlikely he would’ve reached this level, since Motta didn’t trust him and he probably would’ve been stuck on the bench, halting his development. Overall, it’s Motta and Giuntoli who should be held accountable for selling him and failing to recognize his potential not the fans who, at the time, thought 20 million was a fair price for him. overal this issue runs deeper and has been rooted in Juve for a long time. We’ve consistently struggled to properly recognize players’ potential, and we’ve let far too many go for cheap. Another example is Romero. it was honestly ridiculous how we lost him, I think we bought him for around 14 million and sold him for just 17 million. Even this year, I feel like selling Mbangula, and maybe Savona, could turn into the same kind of mistake. big clubs usually don’t let young players go that easily. And even if they do sell, they either include a buy back clause or at least secure a first refusal clause. We, on the other hand, have been making these mistakes for years.
