I'll make the argument that Huijsen's career is in a tough spot right now. He'll be 20 years old next season with only 1 year of true experience playing regularly. I'm not sure making the jump to a massive club is the right move for him, as 20 year old CBs dont often start for top clubs. He'd benefit jumping to a club a tier below those top clubs (like Haaland with Dortmund) where'd be start every game and excelling there for a year or two before making the jump.
Unfortunately, I think his price tag is too high now where he's priced out from some of those clubs, especially to the point where it would be a worthwhile investment in terms of resale value, and Bournemouth will be looking to cash in on him. And in Huijsen's mind, I have to think signing with Real Madrid before being ready is better than staying at Bournemouth.
