I'll make the argument that Huijsen's career is in a tough spot right now. He'll be 20 years old next season with only 1 year of true experience playing regularly. I'm not sure making the jump to a massive club is the right move for him, as 20 year old CBs dont often start for top clubs. He'd benefit jumping to a club a tier below those top clubs (like Haaland with Dortmund) where'd be start every game and excelling there for a year or two before making the jump.

Unfortunately, I think his price tag is too high now where he's priced out from some of those clubs, especially to the point where it would be a worthwhile investment in terms of resale value, and Bournemouth will be looking to cash in on him. And in Huijsen's mind, I have to think signing with Real Madrid before being ready is better than staying at Bournemouth.

then again, motta and toli and their brilliant man management skills kicked in, bremer got injured and here we are with fucking kelly. in hindsight selling huijsen is a top5 worst transfer decision of the last decade, and that's quite an achievement since this club signed arthur for 80m, extended rugani twice during the same season, extended mandzukic then put him on the stands within months, bought kelly, signed ramsey (etc) during that period

If he's potential is indeed very high then its double criminal that we wouldnt give him game time due to Danilo, Gatti and the likes. If he's behind Bonucci, and Chiellini sure... but these starters are not even at Cacares level
