Danilo and Juventus part ways

Danilo Luiz da Silva and Juventus have parted ways after five and a half years together, following a mutual termination of the player’s contract.

The Brazilian defender made 213 appearances for Juventus, scoring nine goals, and won one Scudetto, one Italian Super Cup and two Italian Cups, the last of which was raised as captain in Rome in May last year.

Danilo has always been an example of professionalism and commitment, from his scoring debut against Napoli on 31 August 2019, until his last match played in Bianconero against Venezia on 14 December 2024.

A champion to whom we can only wish the best: thanks for everything and good luck for the future, Danilo!

#Danilo 's farewell to #Juventus : "I can't be part of the project anymore. Five and a half years have passed but for me it feels like a lifetime. It's never easy to part with a love, a place that has given me so much. A shirt that made me feel great emotions"

I think he's a Tuz favorite. I didn't really like him but I think he did his job to the best of his ability. I think under Sarri he was below average. With Pirlo and Allegri, he exceeded expectations, with Motta he was forced out shamelessly. Thankfully he isn't going to Napoli because he would definitely be a big asset to them in terms of personality and leadership.

I wasn't around for his first couple of years, but that awful year with Allegri, Di Maria, Rabiot and the FIGC up our asses this guy was the only one who really seemed to give a shit and the only one showing class and leadership on the pitch.

The first Juventus club captain who wasn't Italian is that right? Man earned it. Antithetical to the typical lolzillian. Worked hard and lead by example.

Here he is after being dumped by the club without a sendoff and he's saying thank you. A class act till the end. Thanks capitano.

So... let me get this..

- He exceeded the expectations of the fans who did not want him in the club.

- He became one of the leaders in times when leaders were few.

- He became one of the 3 foreign captains in the HISTORY of Juventus.

- And at the end of his career, when Juventus ends up kicking him out, he goes to Brazil instead of signing for Napoli, giving up financial compensation in the process...

So... How come Danilo is not in the legend section?

Because no one will remember him in 20 years time. Tuz favourite at best.

Conte, Marotta, Dybala, higuain and Bonucci are not in the legends section then why the fook would Danilo be? all of them are significantly more deserving

Maybe it is because I respect and fight a lot for these values that I can no longer be part of this project.

This line stuck out to me. Makes me think that what I have suspected with Giuntoli that shady piece of shit is true.
