Was dead against the swap deal at the time but danilo has been a very good servant. Can't wish him the best as he is joining a rival.

Fuck we are terrible with how we deal with players like this. Yet we treat the shit players better
Can't even blame him for joining a rival, the club only have themselves to blame for that if they're forcing him out the door.

Not against him leaving but I hate the way the club has dealt with a lot of players exists.
After our coach in horrible fashion, now our captain in anything but a classy way. It also holds very little upside to let him go now. In contrary... Very strange call this imo.

I guess we have to see how we deal with the replacements...

Let's not forget the monumental fucks ups he did this season which costed us wins. Many at the time were calling for him to be sent to Siberia on a one way ticket.

Doesnt excuse how we handle his exit..but still need to remember just how bad he has been.

No doubting that, I was there vs Stuttgart and I'll be the first to say that was when I knew he was finished at the club, however I wouldn't have minded him staying till the end of the season given he covers positions that we already lack in, and I dont even trust giuntoli to fill that void.

He will be sit on the bench mostly if we keep him until the end of season, while he keep collecting his paycheck because we wont play him much because of his automatic renewal. I really think when he said he want to scrap that clause, it is just a lip service

Another one that doesn’t fit in with Motta’s system… or whatever that is supposed to be, seemed clear from round 1 that the coach did not trust him, but not because of performances because he hadn’t even played yet, instead tbh if my memory isn’t failing me it all started when he made some comments about Chiesa being left out of the squad, think that was the moment Giuntoli and Motta made the decision to oust him asap, therefore the following poor performances were just as much due the player being unhappy behind the scenes and lacking confidence as it’s been because of him declining physically.

With the current injury crisis and lack of depth i am not so sure letting him go is the best solution atm, but it seems inevitable so let’s just hope we are not only replacing him directly but also will look to bring in an additional CB or fullback for depth on top of his direct replacement.

I'm really not at all attached to Danilo, I think he had some decent seasons but even when he had the armband it came off as performative sort of like he was trying to be captains of old. Decent player, not worried about him leaving as long as we bring in someone to replace him.

Thank you for service and good luck.

He is more suited to low block defending in Allegri, Conte's defensive approach. That's why one of his best match for us is when we played against Man City when we forced to do most of defending.
But with Motta's defensive approach, he is exposed. Defensive line must be higher and prone to counter attack by speed, CB must move forward to be midfield when build attack.
But still not bringing him for Supercoppa is strange when our backup CB for Gatti/Kalulu is Locatelli and backup for LB is McKennie and Rouhi

If this is the case, we should include him back to the team. No point in let him for free.
Our goal is to get transfer fee before hos contract expired and use his salary space for othe player coming in. If we cant achieve that, we shouldnt let him go for free

This Danilo "saga" is so unnecesary and incredibly bad managed by Juventus...
As with pretty much every exit under giuntoli. Vlahovic' won't be handled any better.

This whole situation reeks of arrogance from Giuntoli.

Again - why the fark would we help a direct rival, especially when we're short of defenders?

i think it's on motta. he should use danilo as a fullback but no, he puts mckennie and rouhi there before danilo. of course the player wants to leave, and of course the club is willing to cut the costs of a player on relatively high wages

then again, the potential replacements aren't especially appealing. now, that's on giuntoli

Napoli is not a direct rival. They are fighting for the title, we are not making CL.

Then again it is not a surprise that the Napoletano helps his team fight it with Inter and Atalanta for the scudetto. It's normal.
