I definitely agree with us having to spend if we want to improve or keep up with European elite, I was just disagreeing that 24m is nothing to us, it's probably half of our transfer budget :D If he flops badly and is benched by soon to be grandfathers Licht/Barzagli, I don't expect anyone will want to cover his 5m salary and we know what usually happens when brazilians are asked to take a paycut to start a fresh challenge, we'd be begging for him to accept China
We bought someone from Dinamo Zagreb for similar fees less than a year ago.

Yeah but he earns like 1.5mln here. Danilo is going to be on 4mln higher :D
No way we are paying more than 4million in salary for Danilo. I'd be really surprised if we do. At 4million a year, he'll cost us the same as Alves when it comes to salaries ( I know it's probably very simplistic to look at it that way, since Danilo's contract would be much longer).

Yeah but Dani Alves was a lot bigger name and somebody who won a CL, has tons of exeprience and was by far the best RB in the game for many years.

There's absolutely no way imo it's going to be less than 4mln/season. I think 4.5 is going to seal the deal. Danilo is A LOT bigger risk and even if it's 4mln it's 8mln with taxes.

I'm not saying he's worth that salary, just how it'll affect our wage structure.
As for the bold part, that's the same for every player. We have a transfer budget and we have a wage budget. I'm sure we'll only do a deal only if it fits both. We just offered big wage increases to Dybala and Sandro (I'm an optimist :p), so we might pay over the odds for the transfer fee, but not the wages. At least that's what I think will happen. But then it's :beppe:, he doesn't give a fuck what us mere mortals think.
Why do you think he'll get 4.5-5m though? As far as I can tell, no other club is seriously interested in him. He's not really wanted by Real themselves and he's had a poor two years. He's currently earning around 3.5m. I can't see how (or why) anyone would give him much higher than that. If an EPL club is after him, then logic is out of the window.

If he comes , it will be our first choice RB signing we are after. About time, we getting the first choice's and not the seconds in our list.

Juventus has an agreement with Danilo. (Sky)

Juventus will send an intermediary in the coming days to close the deal for Danilo. Real Madrid want €30m, Juve could offer €25m. (Sky)

I think we'll end up playing that 3-4-3 we used later in the season if we sign Danilo. Might be the best solution if we have such attacking wingbacks, a billion CBs and a bunch of central attackers.

Higuain/Schick

Berna/Mandzu - Dybala/Cuadrado

Sandro/Asamoah - Khedira/Matuidi - Pjanic/Marchisio - Danilo/Licht

Chiellini/Rugani - Bonucci - Barzagli/Benatia

+ Pjaca after January and Rincon/Sturaro.
